ok so 4runner has had the check engine light on for a while but just been too lazy to take it in to get the code checked and finally went today and it says its P1135 - Fuel Sensor Heater Circuit Response (Bank 1, Sensor 1)

So if im not mistaken that is the O2 sensor infront of the catalytic converter but was im not sure of is which model of sensor i need? if anyone can help me with which one i need for a 2002 2wd v6 4runner that would be great. My plan is to buy it on amazon since it seems to be the cheapest. THnx

Go here: DENSO Aftermarket Online Catalog | Vehicle Parts Search

It looks to be Denso #234-9002.http://www.amazon.com/Denso-234-9002-Oxygen-Sensor-Ratio/dp/B000C5YCYS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328295578&sr=8-1

Where exactly is this located? I've seen in an older thread you get to it from the passenger side, but where to be more exact?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Really? It's a pre-cat exhaust sensor. Get under the truck, passenger side, armed with this info, and look on the exhaust, in front of the cat. If you really can't find it, count your cats while you are there, because I need to know if there is one cat or two before I can give you a better answer.

Found it, just didn't crawl far enough under the other day when I first slid under there. Was taking a peek before work so didn't take enough time to look around.

Replaced it this morning with only trouble being where the cabling snaps in, was a bit of a booger getting out, mostly due to awkward position. Anyway, thanks for the tips, got it done.

P1135 & c1201

I'm new to forums and this board so I hope I'm posting this in the right place, and I really hope I get some responses quick :-).

My VSC, VSC TRAC and Check Engine lights all came on last week so I went to have the codes pulled.

P1135 - Air / Fuel Sensor Heater Malfunction - Bank 1 Sensor 1
AND
C1201 - Engine Communication Circuit

I had this problem a few years ago and had to have an 02 sensor replaced - at the dealership - and it cost me over $300.

What do I do? Is the Air / Fuel Sensor the same thing as an 02 Sensor?'

Thank you for any and all advice!!

I'm not anywhere near as knowledgeable as most others on here but having read through many discussions on this code before replacing mine I believe it is the same thing.
