It shows the Grappler G2's are not a compatible tire.

I think what my more distinguished friend is hinting at is that your post whoring is having the opposite effect that you had hoped. By starting 5 threads on topics that had active or at least extensive threads you have driven away some of the amazing knowledge that is on this site and might have guided you and you would be better off just searching or googling to get accurate information.
Here is a hint... Put "5th gen" in front of your search terms and you will get more relevant results.
When I looked up the the definition of "post whore" it also states that matches you to be exact: "someone who hunts threads started by newbies just to talk down to them so they can feel superior."
On the flip side I have gotten great advice here. Thanks anyhow.

If I have learned anything from the past few days it is that apparently Tapatalk is very limited compared to actually accessing this forum through say, an actual smart phone app window like GOOGLE, SAFARI, or anything similar. I had the Tapatalk app downloaded for a little while. Now I remember why I deleted it.
Agree. Tapatalk is the worst app, its very buggy as well as inconsistent.

Actually I don't think you are a post whore I think you are a troll just looking to frustrate people. Why? Because nobody could be this clueless about topics, especially after several good people took theIr valuable time to post relevant links to try to help you. How do you respond? By questioning the links or dismissing them out of hand as being old or inactive for a time.
I would just chalk it up to you being a noob but in your case I think it would take a semester of studying just to reach noob status. Good luck.

In that case, get two G2s for the rear, and the other Grapplers for the front. Set your Bilsteins to .8591827, get the TRD wheels in black, or whatever is most popular, and call it a day. Please.

This thread is old, and went a little off the rails. But I'm new and would request a little clarification.
I have a 2017 TRD Off Road Premium. I will be driving from NC down through New Orleans -> Texas -> New Mexico up to Colorado. The only Off roading I have planned is the Medano Pass road at Great sand dunes in Colorado.
I've read through tons of forums but as a first time 4RUNNER owner of anyone has an opinion I'd love to hear it. Should I keep the stock dunlops for the trip and switch to terra grapplers when I arrive (to live and off road more) in Colorado? Or go ahead and put the G2's on the truck and stick with them? I have not lift or spacers for now.

You would probably be fine with the Dunlops on the Medano Pass Road. The sand can require airing down for the beginning if it's drier, but from what I remember, nothing is particularly rough as you get up higher on it.
One thing, I just checked the NPS web site and it looks like it was recently closed due to flash flood damage, so depending on how soon you are going, you may not be able to do it.
Why Grappler G2s by the way? You'd probably be better off with a KO2 or a AT3W. G2s are not a particularly burly tire for getting in rocks to tell you the truth...

I'm going through mid October so hopefully It will be good to go.
I honesty don't have a specific reason to go with the G2's, probably aesthetics. Most driving will be on road and I'm trying to avoid significant noise increase with adding a bit of off road capability. That's the goal. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Like I said I've been reading a bunch throughout this forum, other sites and reviews. I'm sure there's not one right answer I'm just trying to navigate reviews and get a quiet tire that will get me through some mild to medium terrain when the time comes.

I've run both a Nitto Exo Grappler on my Wrangler and now a Falken AT3W on my 4Runner. Both were remarkably quiet and smooth while still being burly tires.
If you really want a Nitto, a Ridge Grappler is probably the burlier tire with still pretty decent on road capabilities (but heavy). P-metric Falken could be a really good choice (and a great price).
