I washed my car today, and I looked at the roof and noticed that their is a chip that is starting to rust alittle. It is not very big, might be from road debris or something. I waxed the thing a couple of weeks ago and I don't remember seeing it then, so i'm not sure if it happened before or after. It has 2 coats of wax on it. I also noticed 2 nicks on my hood that have been there for awhile, but they too appear to be developing a bit of rust. Anyone notice anything on their truck like this? I know corrosion is covered under warranty, but they exclude road debris from that. However it seems weird to me that road debris could cause the paint to chip down past the primer to the metal. My last car had a scratch from a key in the back, and that never rusted, neither did any other scratch on it. My parents cars don't have anything like this on their cars either. Sounds like a flaw to me. Anyone have any ideas? I am going to take it to a body shop this week to have it looked at, because i don't want it to get worse and just cost more. This really pisses me off. Little debris hits cars all the time, however the paint on this car seems to chip off much easier than other cars we have at our house, and now that I see this rusting it worries me even more, maybe the quality of the paint sucks or something, i don't see why it should get down to the metal from something so little.
