Paint Color Correction

Hey everyone, got a question im sure has been on everyones mind... atleast anyone who lives in a sunny state, like myself in Arizona.

My vehicle has gotten some UV abuse, and the hood, roof and areas by the window seals have gotten oxidized and seem to eaten the clear coat off.

Is there any paint color correction process that can bring my paint back to stock? I was hoping maybe the clear coat that is peeling/oxidized can be buffed away and then apply a fresh coat of clear coat to the area?? Or is this type of paint damage only repairable by repainting?

Just paint it white like about 80% of the vehicles in AZ.
A garage helps especially if your color is dark.
Guess I'm no help. Last 6 cars were white.

That'll most likely require a respray as the paint where the clear has worn is also faded.

Darn i was hoping that wasnt the case... i guess time to find me a sport hood!

My Pacific Blue hood looks like that but a little worse. I've also noticed some fading/yellowing on the parts on the outside. Door jambs, etc... seem to have a deeper and truer blue. I actually like the more aqua hue of the faded areas better than original color. I don't think the DIY techniques shown on various YouTube videos would serve well as the fresh paint would not match. Also, the hood and roof take the most UV rays so the better quality paint and prep available from a pro would likely last longer. Good luck.
