did all colors have clear coat ?

example 1...my 2001 has silver , it has clear coat...some spots peeling.
example 2....a 99 silver....recently for sale....posted ....recently wet sanded, cut buffed and waxed...im thinking to get rid of bad peeling clear coat
example 3...a black one for sale said bad paint fade...did not look like clear coat.
exmape 4....in wrecing yard other day....a dark blue that looked like it was not a clear coat on it...

just curious as I might be looking for a replacement for this 2001 I reccently got.....it has issues.

I saw a red one the other day with no signs of clear coat failure. My silver one is peeling at the fender area.

Toyota Super Red II on my 93 wagon. No clearcoat to peel but it fades/oxidizes if you don't keep it waxed.

I could be wrong, but from what I've seen of the Desert Dune paint it doesn't seem to have a clear coat either.

All the "metallic" and "pearl" paints have clear coat, including Desert Dune Metallic.

My old '90 Camry was Super White II and did not have a clearcoat. Same color/paint was used on the trucks/4Runners of the same era.

My Imperial Jade 200 has sprouted extensive clear-coat peel in the last year. Not to be left out, the IJ sport hood I have on it from a 99 is now trying to catch up......
