Paint for Interior Parts

Here’s another option...

When I wanted to paint my FMU, I eventually took a sample of plastic to local Sherman-Williams and had them match using acrylic latex “SnapDry”. Light sanding, one roll and it was a spot on match for my 96 oak interior. 6 months later, no fading/cracking/bubbles. Didn’t need primer because FMU was originally grey

SEM Color Coat Castella 15223 is the best oak interior match (original top, painted bottom). Its not obvious from the first pic, but it is the right tone, just a touch lighter.

For the moon mist interior, unless somebody has some experience to post, I would suggest getting the color card from SEM and comparing it to what you want to match.

is castella the lighter or the darker color for the oak trim?

i ordered sem ivory and it seems to match the lighter color trim.. but I'm looking for the darker tone like the dash color.. is that castella?

Its the lighter color. It looks like Ivory is in their "Classic Coat" line of Leather/Vinyl dye/paint instead of the "Color Coat" line of plastic and vinyl paint.

Assuming you are talking about a 3rd gen, not a 4th gen that is in your signature...

actually talking about my 1st get tacoma in oak (which looks to be the same color combo.. i just need to spray the center console but its the darker of the 2 interior colors and i ordered the lighter color.. smh

Not necessarily 100% relevant to the thread but how the heck do you get interior part to really stick and never peel? Sand the heck out of it, paint it, clear coat it and let it cure for a few weeks before installing?
