Paint quality issue from the factory?

Anyone know if paint quality was an issue on the '88 from the factory? Some nice trucks that i've looked at recently that seem to be all original have a difference in color between the hood and fender/s. Anyone else notice this? Unless every truck i'm looking at has had the hood replaced!

A lot can, and will happen to paint over 30 years time. I would be less surprised to find paint in good and matching condition after that period.

On mine, the clear coat is worn off and I have a different color on the hood and top, is that what you are seeing??

On mine the hood and the fenders're different also.

The paint was literally blowing off the hood and cab of the 83 in my sig, luckily for me the dealer repainted it for free.
