Anyone have any idea how to get freshly spilled touch-up paint off the hood, bumpers, headlights, and grille? Ideas for getting it off of skin as well?

Well here ya go. But....you will need to polish and wax when you finish with my method.

I learned this when I picked up some paint on the street that some dim-wit had spilled. It was all over my Corvette, and even thought I got home at midnight, I did not go to bed until all was good.

METHOD

Wash all the areas you are going to work on.

Pick up some paint thinner at your local HD or Lowes and using a micro-fiber towel, wipe off as much as you can.

I found that it took several attempts with more paint thinner and a clean towel. You will get most of it off this way.

I also used some WD 40 as an experiment and it too worked well, just left an oily film.....not good for me.

I then Clay Bar'ed the remaining paint. You will be amazed at the debris (including the spilled paint) that you will get off with this step, even though you cannot see or feel it on your paint surface.

This may sound like a slow method, but you will be happy at the speed you can accomplish once you get the hang of using the clay. It is NOT difficult at all.

This should have you back to "ground zero" and ready to move on. When you are happy with the level of cleaning, then you can polish and wax for shine and protection.

Let us know how it all comes out.

ALLEGRO summed it up perfectly!!

Clay Bar is so awesome!!

Once year...my neighbor was painting their house & the next day, I saw that my paint on my old car had some overspray. I was going to raise hell, but I saw they were very small. It was small dots, but all over my car. So I gave the claybar a try & I was back to normal. Didn't have to go kick some arse.

Meguiar's Clay Bar sucks...it left a gunk on my paint.

I went back to Mother's Clay Bar!!
