Paint

I have a 2017 SR5P that I bought new. I’m at 47k miles now. I was cleaning the car earlier today and noticed this dark spot in the paint on the hood. It’s not rough or dented. I don’t know anything about paint and was wondering if this was a factory paint issue? I don’t recall noticing it before.

Spot?
All I can see is the giant line down the center, half the hood is dark, the other half is light?

super white is single stage paint - clear coat is mixed with the base coat vs multiple stages/layers. there must have been a stain that you left on a little too long. you will need to polish and coat it.

I can't tell whether you are a super white or a Blizzard pearl from your photos.
Last Year I received a letter from Toyota about My Blizzard pearl paint.
They seem to be having issues. and they are willing to fix it.
But the criteria that has to be met is sketchy at best.

I don't have any issue yet, but My 4R is garaged when not in use.
I would give you the campaign number from the letter but I am not at my primary location due to the Virus.
Call Toyota and see if you qualify

In the first picture there is a dark spot in the center of the photo. It’s kinda hard to capture it with the camera.

I can make out the spot for the most part, but I'm asking, what is the wavy line all the way down the middle and why aren't you complaining about it?

I took your pic and drew some arrows.......

I have no clue what that line is. There is no actual line on the hood. Something to do with how the light is hitting the hood would be my guess.

It’s super white. My vehicle has been in the garage when not in use as well. I will check with Toyota.
