I played on a team lots of years ago. We went to a couple tournaments, did ok I think. The last time I played was eight or so years ago, lol.

ive never played on an actual TEAM, but my group of friends played very well together. we played against some actual teams, and made them look silly. we could just never commit the time or money to do it.

its been about the same for me, I hope all my gear still work as it should..

i'll be using OLD TECH compared to most out there im sure....
also, probably be 20 years older than the majority. haha

Come to NC. I'll take you to Command Decisions. The guy that owns it it a former Army/Air Force SOC guy. Bad ass field. Helped build a few things there with him.

Been a long ass time since I played though. Have a custom 98 in a Mauser synthetic stock. Also had a A5 with a MP5 kit with e-trigger.

I started playing in '92 and the last time was late '05. I think if I played now the way I used to, I would need a week off to recover and some painkillers.

My first gun was an F2 Illustrator, then a 68 Automag (powerfed and switched to CA), and ended up with an Eclipse Angel LED.

I guess this is getting to be "old school":

As soon as I get around to it, my gear is going on Craigslist.

That was old school a couple years ago lol. I started playing in high school. First time was just rec ball, but I moved to speedball (tournament) shortly after. I shot anything from mech autocokers, ecockers (e1 and e2), Angels, intimitators, egos, etc

The expense of the sport catches up with you quick. A case of paint (2000) was around $60 and I'd use 3-5 per tournament day playing mid/front insert. I saw a couple back player use almost a full case in one game just shooting and covering their lanes back when the NPPL super 7s were big. Then the cost of air, tournament fees, practice paint... it adds up quick if you don't have sponsors.

I'm a old timer with it too played on a few teams while I lived in va went to tournaments mostly in tenn va and nc once to Florida got @ss whipped there lol. Got a smarts parts shocker that still shoots like a boss:cheers:

well the 24hr game was shit.

we were mostly there for the night game, it was very hot during the day, so didn't play much, and never planned to.

the night game, "night" was lame. they had it lit up like a football stadium. so you were either in FULL light, or in pitch black outside the light. the contrast between the 2 made it very difficult to see anything.

it was made a bit worse by my stupid goggles fogging up. I don't remember having that problem before, or I would have addressed it before going. ohwell.

im running a diablo wrath with delrin bolt, otherwise stock. a 70ci carbon peanut 4500 HPA tank, and just a halo hopper. nothing special, but it just WORKS every time. alos, as is my standard...I have no pics of it. haha

Man I'd love to get into it but I can't afford another expensive hobby! My good friend Kevin's son Nico Perry plays professionally for the Seattle Thunder. I've seen his gear and I swear, some of his guns cost as much as the AR's I've built!

or more.

we talked to a few guys that were there, some with $1500+ into just their guns. insane money. I think I paid $250 for mine like 10 years ago. it does everything I would ever ask of it, I don't see any reason to "upgrade".

This was mine nearly a decade ago.

Dark Angel IR3.

It was well over a grand back then and now can be had on ebay for a 200-300 lol.

Loved the sport of paintball but unfortunately the tournament/speedball/inflatable stuff is pretty much all closed up and gone in the area.

I play some. I was heavily involved in in the worlds largest regional tournament series here the the Southeast US from around 03-06 as a player and was an ultimate ref from 06-08 before I walked away from the sport. I played for a fully sponsored team that was the farm/sister team for the Las Vegas pro team.

I've reconnected with the sport this year and have played a few events. Tried a new local series that allowed players of different experience levels, from beginner to pro, to play together, but that series never took off. Most of the guys I play with from my era are former pros and a few of the guys that are the top players in the world are friends of mine who came through the ranks with me. Now I'm just playing a couple of local 3 mans when I have time, trying to help out friends that are newer players. The guy that brought me back to the sport is actually somebody I met on T4R who got me in to off-roading.

Here's a shot from a tournament a couple of months ago with he and I in it. You can see his 4Runner in the background:

I enjoy paintball, but there are a lot of aspects of it that I can't stand.

I miss playing paintball...tried to get back into a couple years ago but between everyone backing out and a torn mcl I was done. Now im gonna try and sell my guns lol.

Interested

Do you still have this old gun?

Used to in my younger years with a church group.

Then some a-hole had to invite out some female youth and one of them shot me in the weiner.

Rolled around on the ground screaming some not-so-churchie words. Well, not some, but like all of them.

Took two hours to pee after that.

Had traces of the paint on my underwear.

That was not a fun day.

Quit after that.

lol. not that is was funny, but I bet it was funny. lmao.

I have unintentionally done the same to friends. twice in a row once. he was PISSED. threw his $1000+ gun down into the dirt, grabbed a branch and started bashing a tree(instead of me). hahaha oops.
