painted fender flares

So I have been thinking about painting my flares for a pretty good while but the only thing that was holding me back was the type of flares I had. I have the limited edition fender flares and I hated them until now. I am super happy with how everything turned out. I used the same paint I used to paint my roof rack I built with some rustoleom truck bed coating. It looks a bit funny with the very dark black on the crome bumpers but its gonna be awesome when I get my custom bumpers on :D . Until then I will just have to keep some mud on it haha.. Let me know what you think..

I actually painted some of the interior with the same paint. I just covered up all that ugly cheap looking wood grain center piece and the center console piece up to the elbow rest. Ill try and get some pics soon.

Oh man perfect timing!! I've been debating this also and I have the same Desert Dune over Silver Limited. That looks killer on the DD.
Did you paint over the small strips of rubber that goes between the flares and body? It looks like you did but figured I'd ask.
I'm off to Home Depot now.... :reddance:

Yeah I did. And a little advice dont take the panels off. Leave them on and just stick the tape behind the panels. I made the mistake of taking mine off and I regreted it.... immediately lol. all those little plastic clips broke and I had to figure out a new way to put them back on. Let me know how it turns out man..

Cool, did you roll it or spray it and how many cans would you recommend buying?

Thanks for the help!

Dig it man looks great! Grab us some pictures of the interior as well!

By the way what kind of rack is that

i sprayed it with that rustoleom truck bed coating
and it took about 4 cans i think.

the rack is home made. i built it in my garage.

I would in a heartbeat but I would have to fill all the holes left by the clips that holds the panels on.

And your welcome

wow I would love to have a set of body color limited flares, cant believe so many guys dont like them .

But to each their own, it does look more rugged with the black >

I personally liked them the way they were, but they turned out good.

I too have the black SR5 flares and would rather have the body colored limited style on the newer ones (without the body cladding).

Hmmm . . . well mine will cover up those holes. Or, I could possibly throw in a little $ as well. Then you could use that money to buy the putty if you feel necessary. So in the deal you'd be getting my flares and some $. See how good my logic is :) I really want those limited flares! And honestly, mine are in perfect condition. You get slightly smaller flares, I get slightly wider flares, and everyone is happy

Nah man I'm ok it would be a lot of work cuz I would have to get the truck painted and stuff after I bondo all the holes up and I drive through thick brush all the time.. So ill have to pass man thanks...

And no I don t. I won't have one for a while I'm out of town for a while... I'll post one when I can...

We're still waiting for those pics?:rapture:

I just did this to mine but with roll on monstaliner. I used the medium quartz grey to maintain a similar to stock color scheme.

Here is a couple of mine, used raptor liner around the whole lower trim and flairs on my 2000 limited
