Haha! Yeah exactly! That silver one is the only one I came across while searching! Looks good on Silver, just wondering what its going to look like on a White one?

I was just thinking about doing this tonight. But its 108 degrees! Might have to wait for the weekend,

It looks great! I did it on my Taco (sold to upgrade to the Runner) and I was stoked on the turnout.

I used spray on bedliner for texture.

These pics just put me over the edge. I'm gonna have to do this now. I'll post some pics when its done. Thanks!

see sig. Seeing mine also convinced my buddy and fellow forum member Aha2988 to do his this past weekend. He is happy with the results because he had that ugly silver from the LTD's. I love how mine turned out.

Maybe search "Evo Mod". That's what I've heard it referred to as. That's how I came to pulling the trigger on mine.

You seem so much smarter than everyone in this thread obviously......so you do know that painted portion is part of the bumper right?

Yes I do. That is why it is a fake skid plate. Learn your 4 runner history and you might get it. See this picture of a 3rd gen? That is a real skid plate.

Now see the 4th gen? That is not a real skid plate. Just textured and painted to look like it. Understand now? Killer Huh?

Man I just learned something. I always thought that most people just called it a lower bumper cover.

Who knew that "4Runner Historians" (or at least one) referred to these as "Fake Skid Plates"? That's awesome!!!!

"Hey Honey! Guess what...."

Um no, you're actually wrong, the 4th gen could be had with that junk skid plate as well.

This picture shows a 4th gen factory front bumper before that part was painted....

No one is painting a fake skid plate they're painted the valance on the front bumper like the new Tacomas come from the factory.....

Yeah, you are right, it is a fake skid plate and the 4 runner and the Tacoma are exactly the same. They just added the texture and used the same color as the skid plate on the bumper to make it look like that. I am glad there are killer members like you that can see that. Painting fake skid plates adds some serious value to your 4 runner. I mean chics really dig that. Someone may even mistake it for a Tacoma. Totally killer. Maybe your dad can buy you some spray paint when he gets home because you aren't old enough to buy it nor have money to do so. It's killer.

I am going to run out and paint mine. Oh wait, it is already painted because that is what they did in 03 from the factory. Maybe I will go plasti-dip my steering wheel instead.
