What brand and color of paint did you use for the boards? Was it rattle can or did you use a HVLP set up? I have a Titanium SR5 that I want to do the same thing to. Also, what brand of adhesion prep and sealer did you use?

A write-up would be useful for those of us that want to paint our old boards and roof racks, like the Limited's. They look very nice on your ride. It looks like you did a good job.

Aloha,

Nice DIY project...looks great..

Finally another person from HI.....I have only come across like two other people from HI on T4R.org. I can tell those green mountains with bright blue sky anywhere.

You live on the westside? I live Kaneohe.

I used ppg shopline clear coat base coat in factory titanium metalic color.Yea was hvlp spray gun.1st thing I did was wipe down whole board with silicon and grease remover. Then sanded ,used good rattle can plastic adhesive promoter from the paint supplier(ppg line),sealed with sem rattle can sealer from supplier, than painted.Used better brand plastic adhesive and sealer because of less chances of problems. Spray can paint will not be as durable as the automotive paint.I painted my car as a hobbie so used same procedures. The paint is pretty nasty health wise so should use proper protection.Since didnt spray a big ithem I sprayed it in my moms garage.Had sprayed other plastic parts on other cars and had no problems as far as peeling or cracking.I think the key is prep and good quality paint.
