Wow, that looks great. I have been putting off painting my rims because I wanted to get new tires and was afraid the new paint would get chipped. But I think you have just remedied that issue. Hope you don't mind if I bite the idea, seeing as how we're separated by a few thousand miles. Of course 1bad4r would get the credit.

do you want a silver lip or solid black? i did the lip for mine and i have the 5 star stock rims, all you have to do it tape off everything you dont want black, sand everything else, prime it, and put about 3-5 coats on top of it and your done :biggrin2:

Both really I think. I just wasn't sure what kind of sand paper to use, etc...I am not sure where to even begin...or end.

well you can always start with a silver lip, and if you dont like it you can paint over the top of it. the thing that will be frustrating is that taping it all off will be a lot of work.

oh, and i used steel wool to sand everything down on my wheels because it can get into all the goood little crevices that most sandpaper cant

I like it since solid black wheels are everywhere now on cars and trucks and the originaltiy is gone so it's nice to see a bit different take on black rims.

before i got my Ivans I was going to paint my stock rims and leave the lip silver and also the pebble textured part of teh spokes. So was only going to paint the flat shiny/smooth part of the spoke
