On a side note. I am in the process of painting the wheels off of a 2006 TRD Tacoma. Here is the one that I have done so far. The picture really does not do this wheel justice, I couldn't be happier with the results.

Things I bought:
-Duplicolor High Performance wheel coatings (AutoZone - $5.49)
-Duplicolor clear coating (AutoZone - $5.49)
-400 grit Wet or Dry sandpaper (AutoZone - $2.99)

Things I did:
-Sanded down each wheel as best I could with the sandpaper (dry sanded)
-Blew the wheels off with high pressure air hose. If you dont have access to this just wipe them down with a wet rag to get everything off.
-Then I did 3 very light coats of paint and one final medium-heavy coat. Wait 10 minutes in between coats. After the wheels are painted then do the same procedure with the clear coat and let them dry overnight.

who thinks these wheels would look good painted black on my runner? Thanks

From what I understnad, the Duplicolor wheel paint is very durable. I dunno about using regular duty clear though. It may start to chip or flake. Did you use a wheel coating clear?

looking good Cbrdan600 & trd_4runnin!

2004 Tundra wheels painted in Duplicolor - black with silver flakes, but it looks gunmetal in person.

I used the wheel coating clear coat that is supposed to be used with the Duplicolor wheel coatings. It seems to be a durable paint job, but only time will tell. I actually got all 4 of them done now. Hopefully will be installed next week. I'm getting them installed for free which means I gotta be patient...
