Painting chrome bumper process (w/pics)

Where did you get the white turn signals that go on the bumper? i googled them and found a few sites but i thought id see where you got them and if you had good luck with them.

I got them from ebay... I like them, they do it's job

Hmmm... So you were able to sand off the chrome?

I thought people generally just scuffed and painted which would result in flaking.

On the can of the truck liner it says 72 hours to cure and now it's really seems it's on pretty good.

paint plastic valance?

Anybody have any experience with painting the plastic front valance or rear scuff plate on top of the bumper? I think this would look better if the plastic was painted the same color.

I bedlined the front valance. What do you want to know about it?

What did you do to prep the plastic? Did you use a primer? I would like to paint my chrome as well, but would like the plastic to match. Is bedliner the best for adhesion to the plastic?

I also have the small chrome-like flares (if you can call them flares). I wonder if anyone has painted these??? If I paint the chrome on my bumpers, I think keeping the chrome "flares" would look silly.

What did you do to prep the plastic?I sanded and cleaned but would just recommend cleaning because sanding created static with the plastic. Had to wipe with wet cloth to keep grass fragments from sticking to plastic because of static

Did you use a primer? only on the grill but not the lower valance. bedliner sticks well without it

you can tape it off or paint it. up to you.

just an update, paint on the bumper has been on over a year and is holding up great.

Thank you for the update. My kid is trying to talk me into to this on my old '97 Limited. Would make for a nice winter weekend or two project.

i did that to mine, its now see through from corrosion. my only complaint with Toyota are their dang ****ty bumpers.
