Painting lower valence?

Has anyone ever painted the lower valence and other exterior plastics (rear bumper step) or heard of this being done? I'd like to do mine black. Thinking Krylon Fusion?

What is everyone's thoughts on this?

Thinking about the same thing. I used Krylon Fusion on my Rear Spoiler as well as my Grille Guard and it's holding up well.

I just did, successfully after 3 attempts with different paints. Krylon fusion sucks and so does duplicolor auto paint without priming first. The only way that is currently holding up and has been holding up for a month and a half now is (using all duplicolor) 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of auto paint and (I over did it cause I didnt want to take any chances) 5-6 coats of clear coat. I actually painted the lower valance, bumper filler and grille and they are all still looking great. The krylon fusion paint completely flaked off at the car wash after being on for 2 months and the duplicolor w/ no primer just chipped off from road debris after 3 days.

thanks for the advice! can you post some pics? does it still look like plastic or does it look like a painted body panel now?

I've heard of some recommending a dye on the fender flares but I don't know much about the plastic dyes.

Even new plastic can be hard to get paint to adhere and older,weathered plastic parts can be nearly impossible to get a long lasting adhesion so for now I just use a trim treatment every few months.

However, I use my rear step WAY too much to justify painting it. Your case might be different.

I have never had any problems with the krylon fusions. I can understand issues arising when you don't use primer...
