Painting Sport Wheels

I have a 4th gen Silver SR5 and picked up a set of Sport wheels. I am either going to spray them Dupicolor Graphite, Hyper Silver or Plasti Dip them Anthracite Grey. I was wondering if any of you had pics of your silver 4th gen with any of your wheels painted those colors. Just trying to get a visualization of what those colors look like on a silver 4th gen. I don't want too light and too dark.

Here's mine with black wheels, just for reference or a baseline. I plasti-dipped them and then did one coat of satin finish spray paint. That makes them more resistant to scratching/flaking, but you can still remove it if need be.

This is rustoleum hammered grey, the center caps are plastidipped and the "T"'s painted silver.
I have the same wheel/tire combo on my tundra too.

Are you guys painting the rims with tires installed or with the tires removed from the rims? How are you prepping the rims for paint?

it is most wise to remove them before painting. do a search for some other plasti-dip threads, there are many and they are full of tips and tricks.

My .02 is for you to get the wheels powdercoated. You have the wheels free of tires, waiting to be finished. Do it right, get them powdercoated. PC holds up better, and the finish of today's powders is amazing!

How much does PC usually run? I really don't want to spend a ton of money because I got these wheels for dirt cheap and within the next year I will most likely be buying a set of aftermarket wheels. I just hate these SR5 wheels and the Sport wheels were a better and cheaper option right now.

I have my cousin who does it in PA, and I see him charge around $75-$100 a wheel.

damn, that sounds steep. i've always heard of powdercoating being between 50-75 per wheel.

It cost me 50 bucks in plastidip. I took the wheels off the truck. Kept the tires on. Stuff peels off the tires. It's been a year or so and have held up. Granted I don't go off road. But they are so easy to touch up.
