Painting the LBJ's

Got a new set of OEM LBJ's for CamelBackToyota and was wondering if painting the little exposed piece of metal before installing is a "thing". Everything else seems to be painted, except where the four bolts and the OTRE's connect. Any suggestions? I leaning on painting them here to prevent future rust and keep them clean :washing:

Well there is no reason why you cant paint the unpainted areas. They are left unpainted there because it looks like machining was done after painting but i could be wrong and because those are contact points. Be it contact with a bolt head, tie rod or steering stop on the control arm, the paint would just wear off anyways for the most part.

I hadn't thought of that. It could be that they hit the LCA when at full turn.
