That looks really good. Would everything have to be clean before I apply it or would it cover up what is already there?
Where did you find it? I see it for like $35 a gallon online.
I went wheeling today, turned it completely brown. I took my hose and rinsed it, back to perfect black.
I just gave it a good ol' spray and then applied. As long as it's free of loose dirt, just brush it on the stained plastic and stuff. It will clean off the dirt that scrubbing can't take care of and leave a lovely black finish. It lasts a good while and cleans up great, then it's easy to apply again after it wears away. This is the same stuff I used for my bumper plastics, mudflaps, and tires, too.
I work for a Mercedes-Benz dealership and I wash my car there since we have all the cool stuff. We buy it by 5 gallon containers and they last a long time, even with hundreds of Mercedes going through per week. We fill a bottle (probably around a 1 liter) and apply it to a large brush, then brush it on. The brushes fibers get in all of the hard to reach angles and cracks.
I used maybe around an 8th of the bottle doing the entire frame/gas skid/control arms, etc, the wheel wells, all 5 tires, mud flaps, and front/rear bumpers.
If you want, I can take a picture of how the underside looks now after about 1 month and one time offroad. It is still very closely comparable to when I applied it, but with less shine. It's still of very nice flat black appearance. I don't expect to have to do it again until the end of the year or my next intense mud-scapade.
If you do street driving mostly, hell, you'll have that gallon for a long freakin' time! haha
