Panman's Build & Adventures- A lot of "Crap, I hope this works" & "Eh, close enough"

Yesterday, while I was at Home Depot, I noticed the same markings on the bolts as the ones holding my bumper in. These came with the bumper from another owner. The bolts at home depot are NOT grade 8. So I replaced 8 bolts, 4 washers, and two nuts with grade 8 hardware. One of the bolt's snapped off at the head as I was taking it out, and I had to bore it out. I'm glad I got them changed.

I cleaned up my MAF and throttle body, way too much carbon buildup.

I really want to put my new tires on, but I probably shouldn't yet, I will do it before spring break though, because I'll be driving a couple thousand miles, or more.

I also replaced my air filter (real hard, I know), spark plugs, and spark plug wires. The spark plugs weren't looking so good. Now I need to get to class, so I can get out of class and go play.

They are actually Cooper Discoverer STT MAXs. I had one for my spare and I liked it. So when the discount tire direct deal came around I got 4 more to replace my quickly fading super swampers.

If you are doing more than 50% of your driving on the road, I would suggest these over the MTPs. They both get great reviews, but these will treat you better on road, while doing a over average job off road, form what I've read. Plus I love how they look.

KS to CO to NM Overland Trip

Over my spring break I did a overland trip from Kansas, made my way to Colorado Springs, then went to Las Cruces, NM and back to Kansas. It ended up being about 3.5k miles. I put the new shoes on the day before the trip, between that, changing the spark plugs, plug wires, new air filter, and cleaning the MAF and throttle body my gas mileage went way up.
