What is coal?

The range safety even looked at the rounds and my pistol. He said my feed ramps were ok but he also builds 1911's and suggested having them smoothened out and polished a bit. He did say that the pistols weren't really to blame for that. I did tell him about the weight of the round and he didn't seem to think that was an issue.

cartridge overall length.
it does vary slightly depending on the projectile being used.


you might even compare the pictured rounds, to some that haven't been touched. I/E not hand cycled. perhaps there was a bit of setback from that. but if that was the case, only those few you cycled would be affected. so im guessing that's not the case.

I spent a little bit of time today on the phone with one of the guys there at PBR and he was extremely helpful. I owe him some measurements when I get home this evening and we will stay in contact until everything is resolved. He did say that he will send me some more ammo in the mean time for me to try out and he will send another label for me to send the bad ammo back. He mentioned that the ammo in the lot that I got was crimped a little looser than normal because of a different bullet than they normally use but that crimp was still within the .470 that it should be. Either way I feel pretty good about them fixing the issue. They definitely seem like a very good company and their customer service so far is absolutely spot on!
