Parking Rant

DH4Runner

So my wife and I go into Baby's R Us this weekend. We took the 4runner just in case we decided to get something that wouldn't fit in the car. Anyway, when we come out I hop in after my wife and she says, "do you think that truck got close enough"? I got out to check it out and sure enough, the a Dodge Ram was resting on my front bumper.

So she said, "what are you going to do? Are you mad? Should we leave a note or wait for them?"

I replied, "That sure looks like a pretty new Dodge, that would suck if I accidently put it in D instead of R"

D....gas....oops, wrong gear :flipoff:

After all that, now I have a 'reason' to buy a front bumper :thumb3:

Oh, and btw, it only bent my plate a little and put a slight crease in the plastic Ram bumper.

Ok, so you intentionally damaged your 4Runner and the Dodge, when there was no damage before, right?

No need for intentional damage. That has trouble written all over it.

Just leave one of these:

No clue. I assume what happened is someone parked really close and didn't apply the parking brake and when they let off the brake it rolled into me. I didn't give it enough gas to hurt anything really. If I had, the plastic part that the plate connects to would have broke, which it didn't.

Point was, the Dodge driver is an idiot and now I have a lead into spending some money on the runner. :)

I've actually been trying for a while to come up with a non-aggressive way of dealing with my frustrations at the many people out there who can't seem to simply park a vehicle. My best solution so far is to have some custom bumper stickers made (one idea is to have on one side something like this: ///// how most people see parallel lines, /\\/\/\\// how you see parallel lines), have them in my car and when I see something worth the sticker, slap it on their car. Won't do any harm to their vehicle and maybe JUST maybe they'll get the idea.

What the driver of the Dodge did was wrong, but you don't know how it happened. It could have slipped out of gear after they left and coasted into your vehicle. None the less what you did was criminal as well as childish. I sure hope you don't have any children as they will turn out just like you or worst and we certainly don't need any more thugs running lose. It is too bad that people do not grow up before they are given a drivers license. We can only hope that someone saw what you did, got your tag number and turned you in. You should be ashamed!

Wtf is your problem? You're the kind of person I am sick and ashamed to share the road with. You sound like you call the cops on every little thing! "That man didn't use his signal on accident! Hello, Officer?" You're the kind of jerk who has the audacity to call himself "saved" and intend to be wonderful person, yet you say "I sure hope you don't have any children as they will turn out just like you or worst and we certainly don't need any more thugs running lose." You didn't even spell loose correctly... but anyway, screw off, jerk! God damn!

A large dodge truck, especially a new one, is guaranteed an automatic. He drove into his bumper. Don't be naive.

Do us all a favor and apologize to him, or GET THE HELL OFF OF T4R, WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE. Grow the hell up! How would you like it if I said your children are going to be little Satan spawns, since you're a busy body jerk? Yeah, you wouldn't.

Passive-aggressive property damage for the win? I knew I wouldn't like the Toyota crowd.

Oh give it up, the same kind of crap goes on over on the cherokee forums; it's not a brand specific thing. Don't come in here and pick a fight on your second post.

You want to talk tech, then enjoy yourself, lots of good discussion here.

That's a little dramatic. BTW, it's not very kind to take one instantaneous snapshot of a person you've never met and make assumptions about his life, who he is, and how he raises his children. That's called being judgemental. Sure, DH, made a bit of a jerk move, but who of us hasn't, that doesn't make us us bad people, it makes us people.

I hope no one sees your avatar and your screenname and makes assumptions about others.

Here's hoping this doesn't blow up.

As a general rule this forums seems pretty mature compared to some other places I've been.

But then we get this every once and awhile... :ybrick:

While I know kind of what you're saying you said it in the wrong way. Assuming by your screen name we're of the same faith, what you posted isn't really a good witness to other people.

Seriously, a forum is a forum is a forum. Get the jeep out of your avatar and simmer your vagina down. I owned 6 Jeeps in my life and one Toyota and guess which one is better.
Here's hoping this doesn't blow up.
Too late :ak472:

Why is this in the tech section? That's what "off topic" is for. I don't wanna read about how the "Toyota crowd" is either. We are all unique and special and my mommy said you're just jealous.

Sounds like some of you guys need a vacation.

Great 2nd post. lurk more.. be high and mighty less.

Being against vandalism/hit-and-run "justice" isn't being high and mighty.

And thanks, I kind of liked my second post. As I start to repair/maintain my new-to-me 4Runner, I hope to be able to contribute pics/tips to the forum. First up could be the aftermarket stereo install next weekend (if that hasn't already been beat to death here?)
Oh, and until the 4Runner has performed as well (and reliably) as any of my former XJs, my baby stays in the avatar.
