I was changing the valve cover gaskets today and found my coolant leak. I found a generic part number for the hose, but it does not take me to the exact one from the pictures, I cannot find the right one. I have a picture below that I circled the hose. Also, I am happy to say that there was virtually no gunk in my engine at 240,000 miles!:banana:

So the hoses to heater valve are listed as 87245A, B, and C, got the diagram emailed from Camelback Toyota, but when you plug those part numbers into their search bar it says "not available" or discontinued. Original part number for the A hose to right side of tee is 87245-35720. When you plug that in, it says superseded by 8725-3D230, which then says "does not fit 97 4runner"
How can this be so hard. There must be pretty steady demand for hoses!
Same problem at Olathe Toyota.

Correct. The 5 digit plus letter IDs are often seen on diagrams but then the diagram will have a separate key telling you the name and proper part number based on the 5 digit plus letter ID.

My 97 SR5 build and repair thread I think has all the part numbers. I did use napa for one or two hoses I think. I had to cut to fit. I bypassed the aux heater cause the lines looked like crap and I don’t use it anyway.

Those OEM spring clamps are no joke, the best for sure. For some reason many toss them and throw on those cheap screw clamps……big mistake!
I couldn't tell from reading the OP's first post if he did that or just put in the 5 digits plus identifier in the part number search
I'm pretty sure he was just using the 5 digit plus letter ID, I just figured I'd explain how to use those ID's for anyone else who might have been confused by them at some point.

Is this a good place to buy parts? They get mixed reviews for customer service. Camelback has been awesome for me in the past but pretty disappointed with them on these hoses. The tech I talked to a couple times was not helpful on hose part numbers.

I pull my parts from my local Toyota dealer. So I can't answer that question for you. I just use that ans other sites to verify my numbers..

I think thats a good idea and what I plan to do now. I might even pay them to do all the hoses and clamps. Getting lazy in my old age. not to derail thread but I did off road clinic this weekend with Badlands 4x4 training based out of Palm Springs and it was awesome. My 3rd gen kept right up with the Jeep Rubicons, Gladiator and TRD Pro 4runners.
I am going to replace all the cooling system hoses and I think I have hose numbers figured out, but the numbers off the diagram I got from Camelback for the clamps are strange and don't seem to fit according to my VIN #. One example is that there is a different part number for upper and lower radiator hose clamps. Why would those be different? My existing stock setup has some of those clamps that have a cotter pin looking component on one end of hose and spring clamp the other end. None of the part numbers for any of these clamps "works" with my VIN number. I don't want to use regular hose clamps, but spring clamps like from the factory. I also don't want to use those funky looking cotter pin clamps, but straight spring clamps. Anyone who has replaced all their hoses grappled with getting correct clamps?

I'm going through the same process, and those clamp part numbers can be very difficult to track down.
The cotter pin clamps are for pre-assembled components, so you would replace them with equivalent spring clamps.
The radiator hose clamp part number I'm using is 90467-37005 for all 4 locations.
