I'm looking at a 2003 SR5 4 wheel drive. Are the V6 sr5's part time and the V8's are full time 4WD?

TIA

Depends how you use the term "part-time". This chart should make it clear.

Maybe its just me but this post is a little confusing with how the terms part time and full time are used. Both the V6 and the V8 are full time systems, its just that the V8 is engaged full time and the V6 is not, although it can be. Both systems have a lockable torsen diff in the transfer case, the V6 just has a 2wd has the normal setting.

You're right. The term part-time has a traditional definition but it also has been used around here to refer to the V6 4th gen which is why I included the chart for the OP, so he was clear on how the V6 works regardless of how it's named.
