Several things I noticed...
1) pic he submitted has a spoiler (vin vehicle does not)
2) pic from passenger side fender he provided shows no damage (vin vehicle has damage)
3) someone asked if the 4runner has the tube style rack and seller replied yes (vin vehicle doesn't show tube style)
4) maybe its the camera, but the color doesn't even match between both T4R

I mean, it's not even the same color as the truck in his pictures

In reference to the post above - No the color isn't off, the guy is just out right lying. He's sent me.pics of this truck, which is black and grey on the inside. Also, the VIN is an SR5 where his photos are of a Sport.
VIN is in MS, this dude is in WA.

But as we have seen in this thread, it didn’t work out that way. He stated that his decision to preserve his personal info by withholding the car’s VIN was a mistake in judgement. Cliff,
Thanks for looking into this. I too have been in contact with him and he has been up-front with me about shipping progress and such.

This morning I did politely contact him and explain that there were questions arising and could be please provide some assurance that the parts were on the way. I have sold things online before and I totally understand that its easy to underestimate the time needed for packing, getting to UPS, etc, so I did not throw a fit that the part didn't go out first thing Monday morning. I might not get around to installing the part for a few weeks anyway.

I will admit I don't understand his hesitance to share the legit VIN -- however I do understand and respect the desire to protect one's identity. When we're talking about shipping product and sending money legitimately, there is a certain expectation of exposure one might endure, don't you think?

I agree he is a real seller with the vehicle in his possession.

My main concern all along is that it may have been stolen. That is what set off red flags wth the VIN that didn't match up.

Believe me, I understand the importance on internet security and wanting to be safe/potentially remain as anonymous as possible.

I would obviously feel much more comfortable if he posted the real vin as others have posted his phone numbers etc. also just a brief explanation as to the reason he is parting out an 80k mile 4th gen. Just seems a little crazy.

One of the things I love about this forum though is everyone tends to look out for each other. We just want what is best. As seen in many other threads.

My big lie and now embarrassing apology

OK well as most of you know I lied about my Vin number. Like others have said I didn't want my private information out across the public Internet. I do on this vehicle it is not stolen. But yes it was stolen at one time and I had already bought a new car when the insurance company had found it recovered it and I was able to purchase it from them with a branded title for dirt cheap. My original plans were to keep the motor and all the Sandrail. But I'm not so sure that that will even happen anymore due to some financial issues. I promise I am not here to screw anyone over I totally understand your questions and being hesitant to send money to a complete stranger over the Internet. Hopefully as members get the parts he will post their experience they've had with me. I have over 100 emails private message to me so I'm sorry if I have not got back to you yet I am going as fast as I possibly can I had no idea that I would get this many messages and be pulling this many parts of your vehicle this fast not to mention I love your full-time job. Again I'd like to apologize for lying but I was just trying to protect myself and I obviously went about it the wrong way and for that I do apologize
