Parting out 2008 4Runner Sport 80K miles, Olympia,WA

I got a refund from Google. If you google "Google Wallet Refund" you'll get a help page about how to get refunded money you sent. I had to do a quick IM convo with a rep and provide the transaction number, but they refunded me my $70

Not saying you're wrong because clearly it worked for you, but what I read here it looks like once he's accepted the money, there's nothing that can be done on Google's behalf.

Just contact the google wallet support and talk to them. Took me 3 minutes to explain the situation and get a refund.

Just a follow-up... I want to thank HustleHard for encouraging me to do this. I too was able to get a refund through Google in less than 12 hours. You have to contact them via chat, then they will provide you a link to file a dispute.

We're pleased to confirm that following our investigation, we've determined that this claim is valid. The dispute has been resolved in your favor. We've returned funds to your Wallet balance. Please allow a few days for the refund to show up on your account.
The dispute is now considered resolved and closed.

I would imagine that now that there are two claims filed, anyone else who is in the same boat would have no problem getting theirs.

To the seller:

Steve,

I'm sorry it had to come to this. I want to believe that you were legitimately overwhelmed by this process or maybe had some real-life issues interfere with this "hobby project." However, I've lost too much money over the years to false trust and bad faith, so please understand my position.

In the event that you do get around to getting things in order with this project, you have my word that I will send you the money the instant the package arrives on my doorstep. (I was looking for the gearshift module, right rear rubber floor mat, and gearshift knob.)

Thank you for understanding. It was nothing personal.

He sent me a tracking number and told me he dropped off the package on Saturday. The tracking number still comes up with 'label created', but it's been 6 days with no update at all on FedEx's site. This guy is ****ing liar whether he's a scammer or not. I honestly believe he's pulling parts off his 4Runner, but he's told me 4x he's shipped and nothing. I'm going to give it a few more days for something, but thanks for posting how to get a refund.

How do you get them via chat?

Well, my tracking number came alive today. My parts should arrive by the end of the week. Seems the guy really just is overwhelmed. He's been very responsive via text the past week or so. Obviously I'll let people know if my package is filled rubber dog turds or IOU notes.

I didn't take any chances and filed a dispute with Paypal. He had no communication for over 2 weeks despite my repeated attempts via PM here and by direct email.

They decided in my favor and returned my money. My advice to anyone that sent money to this person is to protect yourselves and open a Dispute with paypal if you're within 30 days of sending the money...

Got my parts. Out of 4 parts, 2 were good, 1 was terrible condition and not as described with the pics completely skipping over all the problem areas, and another one, a trim piece, which was too big for the box, so this clown's solution was to break it in half and toss it in the box. He was super apologetic and rather than go through the ass pain of shipping him parts back, I gave him a super reasonable partial refund number and he agreed. Of course he disappears after that. I took it to google to see what happens after that.

Honestly, this thread should just beget locked.

Maybe, but not yet. Let's wait until everyone has their situation resolved and either gets parts or refunds. Otherwise we'll have other stray threads opening up. Might be best to keep it contained.

I will, however, suggest that a mod could post something at the top suggesting that anyone wishing to purchase something from this part-out read the full thread before moving forward.
