Parts Car Price???

Every once in a while I’ll see a wrecked 4runner that is listed 4 sale for a parts car. Unfortunately this guy is only selling the whole thing and not piece by piece. What’s a good price for something like this? He’s asking $3,500 which sounds high to me but I could be wrong since I never bought a complete “parts car” before…thanks for the advice!

I seriously doubt it has anywhere near 6500 original miles. The ol' armor all treatment can make any engine look new. If it really does have that many miles, I'd be worried about why and how the rubber seals look.

I paid $2450 for my running/driving 2000 5-speed 4WD donor truck 4Runner SR5. It had less damage, but 170k and some rust. Needless to say, I tore that sucker apart piece by piece, made my truck a 5-speed 4x4 from a 2WD auto, and parted out the rest for a profit.

Previous owner tried to make the interior black lol...

That does actually look like 6500 miles under the hood. Not the best picture, but all of the metal parts have that factory fresh kind of shine to them. A steam cleaned engine bay on a 15 year old car isn't going to look that perfect.

Wonder what the story is. Looks like it's in a storage complex. Wrecked 15 years ago and then stored for some reason? Dunno.

I bought mine from Copart USA, salvage vehicle auction.

However, you pay a boatload of fees and you must hire a broker for use of their dealer license if you want to purchase a vehicle.

Unless, of course, you have your own dealer's license. You'd probably already know about this though.
