Passenger CV axle slightly loose only, clunk noise during accleration

Hey guys, I been noticing a clunk noise and feel it in the steering wheel when I accelerate from a stop. It's been going on for quite sometime (post lift so maybe <10k miles) but its very minor and I've been lazy to address the problem. Well finally had some time to go under the car and the only thing I notice is the passenger CV axle has a slight play when pulling on it left to right into the differential maybe .5mm, I believe this to be the culprit. Could the axle nut on the hub loosen somehow? Or is there anything else that could cause the CV to be loose like that? I only have 35k miles and though the CV could be going out I'd like to see if something got loose before I replace it entirely.

To add: I dont have any steering vibrations at any speeds, I just have a clunk metal noise/feel when I accelerate off the line.

I think a little play is normal in and out. There is a c clip inside that keeps the cv axle in.

I think they’re referring to the TSB talking about the rear shock reservoir hitting the frame. There’s been people on here talking about random clunks from the front end that are unable to be reproduced on demand. Mine used to have a random clunk in front pass side about 1-2 times a week but it seems to have somewhat gone away, haven’t heard it in a while actually. Some people have found a clunk produced by the sway bar bolts being loose or the LCA bushings being fried or something like the LCA not being torqued enough.

If you feel it in the steering wheel, it’s likely not a cv axle unless youre driving around in 4hi all the time. There wont be any load on the driveline. Give your upper and lowers a glance, sway bar links too while your under there. Good luck!

A tiny amount of play in the differential side of the CV is normal.

I assume you had an alignment after your lift. The torque for the LCA bolts should be 133lb-ft.
Double check those bolts first. Lots of people have had experiences with them not being torqued enough.
Good luck

There's one about driveline binding that causes a clunk in the rear of the feeling that someone bumped you
