Passenger door won't lock 95 4R How to fix please.

Hello all,
newbie here, 2nd Toyota, 1st 4Runner
1995 TR4 Driver's side passenger door lock will only function manually. Not hooked with a remote. Won't open/lock either from the master control panel or when doors are keyed open from front passenger door. The lock seems to be dying as it goes a little bit either way but not enough to complete the task.

Could some one confirm that the accuator (sp?) needs to be replaced and how to go about doing this?
