Passenger Side Lean!!! After Lift!!!

This is really starting to bug me now, especially since I spent the last three weeks driving rental cars, It sure is noticable now. I am going to be taking a look at it this week sometime, Maybe put on a new LBJ on that side and see if it helps, if not then I will be swapping the struts, going against what every one else has ever done with the same setup i have.

Does anyone think it could be the strut itself is worn out?

I never got around to adjusting my springs because I bought some tundra springs instead so I still don't know if they can be adjusted on the truck.

If you can afford the adjustable billies that would be the way to go.

i could get them but am kind of focusing on getting a winch and fixing everything i dented from my last offroad trip, hoping to get a few other things fixed up as well.

Searching for the best deal on 5100's for the front
Anyone have the part number?!?!

Wheelersoffroad.com. Look under first gen Tundra. They sell them for $195 plus shipping.

Also, eshocks.com has them for $94.75 each, which comes to about $203 SHIPPED for me in the midwest.

If you buy from wheelers, call them to place your order, and ask how much shipping will be first. Good people there, I've always been very please when buying from them.

Ok assuming your main problem is that the front L & R sides do not appear "equally level" post lift .... swap the fully assembled Front L shock + coil with the R one. Do not dissassemble to strut + shock, just swap whole thing. Those Tundra coil springs have a Left side and a Right side. Usually identified by a blue mark or a yellow mark.

I have made this mistake in the past as well :toilet:

My thoughts exactly. I think the majority of the suspension components have a side they should be installed on, it would be pretty easy to miss if your were trying to beat the clock on the install. I ruined a rear CV boot on my rhino trying to jamb the left axle into the right ones spot, who knew you couldn't shrink an axle by beating on it. I make those mistakes all the time.

no, i put them on the right sides, i am still thinking i may switch them this weekend if i cant find anything else that is worn out.

I measured yesterday and the passenger side front is 3/4 inch lower than the driver.

maybe the strut top plate bushing is worn down?

okay, but do you have a part number?

Can you make the adjustments with them still on the car?

Real world experience...don't think it will work. I tried today but there simply isn't enough room to get the compressors directly across from each other without hitting the spring/shock towers

Yeah, if you use classic compressors that require that you use them on both sides of the spring, it wouldn't work.

There are those newer style compressors that just go on from one side, and they swallow the whole top and bottom of the spring so even from one side it's being compressed evenly. That style would probably work to let you adjust the perches while installed.

got some poly 1/4" spacers from wheelers, going to put one or two of them on this weekend and see if it takes the lean out.

sorry i didnt get any pics. I did put in two spacers and it raised it up 3/4". but now I think I am just going to order some billies here is the part number BIL 24-188265

I put in the Bilstein 5100's they are on the 3rd notch. I still have a lean to the driver side. UGH this is so frustrating.
