Patriots or Panthers?

The Panthers look like a good team and remind me a lot of the Superbowl Champion 2001 Pats, but I don't think they're going to have enough to pull off a victory in this year's big dance.
Patriots 24-17

Finally somebody hit the nail on the head. I could give a rat's a$$ about NFL. I will watch the commercials and then do other things while the game is on. i didn't even know who was playing until yesterday.

I presume you saw the article in USA Today on Friday? It talked about how special effects are taking over the Super Bowl commercials...so the Hollywood special effects companies are making them.

Very few won't have special effects this year. One they referenced that won't is an IBM commercial with Muhammed Ali in it...thought was that effects weren't needed with him in the commercial.

Being in advertising, I am not easily "wowed" by special effects if there is no creative concept by it. I am more interested in the marketing and conceptual aspect of the commercials, to see if they are getting the point across in a different and unique way. You can use all the special effects in the word, but if the is no concept behind it, even though it might be one of the coolest things you've seen, it is still a failure. I know I sound like a geek saying that, but advertising is all about out shining your competitors. Kinda like us and some other sites....:jester:

I have watched football for years. This year seemed better than average. In the wild card games it was exciting and then the next week when the wildcard teams play, usually boring because all the wildcard teams lose, but 2 wildcard teams won. Now with the salary cap the teams are much closer, no super teams.

SuperBowls are usually BORING and this looks to be the same, but, with the teams both having weaknesses, who knows we might have a close came, and with the Pathers, they love playing overtime, who knows we might have a overtime game.

I am expecting a one sided boring game, but hoping for a REAL game that outshine the commericals. I know I'm a optomist.:D

I know one thing for sure, there is enough pre-game stuff going on to choak a horse. It seems like everybody has some sort of pregame stuff, as well as half time stuff. You almost forget there is a game going on.

Yeah, I wanted to watch something else, so I turned the channel and found "Beaches" or "Anne of Green Gables I, II, III", aaggghh, all of these Chick flicks.

I guess I listen to some Jimmy Buffett for awhile.
