So runners In the Shop monday Morning. To Get it to running order. (couldnt figure out why it Cranks but doesnt fire. 3.0
Now the Question is. Mods and Upgrades i Should do at the moment, When Everything will be clean and Easy to work on.
A) light bar, And Hatch will be Relocated and Replaced.
B) Tire preference, Gearing Preference, Front bumper Prefence.
C) Engine upgrades and such, For more power (3.0)
D) Are there Skid plates you can Buy for the runner?
E) what lift is worth putting in, Till I Save enough to do a SAS (dont mind doing Extra Work To remove)
F) paint Ideas, IM looking for a Wine Red like the one (laugh if you want, But off GTA grand thieft auto, Due to the Colour and how it Stands) but any Preference ideas
G) Bucket seats and Steering wheel Swap, Dash cOmpass? where do i find One, Fender flares > Wintch and locker models? > Any of such is USefull
Going to Be slowly making my Bush Crawler once financially Balanced but for now, Repairs and Basic upgrades
Restoring and Then Building my 2nd Gen. Chop top and a SAS project will be its Future.
ITs stock with the Trail gear Bumper, And i belive 4:88 for Gearing,
Ive never Built Shit before, Ive Seen lots of Builds, And Helped my Dad with His Squarebody. SO Tell me Everything, i like learning.
Ideas, Suggestions, Parts, Or Even Adds i should be looking into for myself, I have Spare Fenders, Doors and such for Half doors and all, So Only Really into Mods you can do, OR Cool builds Ideas, But Help me out.

SAS with full leaf lift if driven on the road, 3 link if only off-road.
Maxxis tires
ARB lockers with 4.88 or 5.29 gears
Self made skid plates and bumpers.
Ditch the 3.0 and swap a 3.4L or VW TDI diesel for more power and reliability.
BMW bucket seats they have power and heated and the it's a closed system so you just need a 12v source.
Sky the limit if you can weld or just spend the money.

Best of luck! Remember it's your rig so build it for what you want to do not what others recommend as it might not fit your needs.

part of your problems is one is upside down and the other fell on it's side:target:

Best you can do for the engine is to eliminate every non-essential vacuum line in there. There are quite a few that can go (Google). Just do the head gaskets now and be done with it. After that, keep the engine tuned up.

If you are keeping the IFS, get 2" ball joint spacers and a 2" Old Man Emu lift. 33" tires will be fine with 4.56 gearing. Anything bigger and you will need to regear to 4.88 or lower. I ran 35's with 4.56 gearing, but wish I had run 5.29.

Best mod I ever did was to install manual hubs and eliminate the ADD.

After that, it's all about after market parts or learning how to weld.

Fender Flares:
$300 shipped from Thailand
https://www.junglefenderflares.com/toyota-4runner-hilux-surf/
Bushwhackers, $400 pretty much everywhere, maybe cheaper on amazon by $10-15
31907-11 Bushwacker Extend A Fender Flares Toyota 4Runner 1990-1995 | eBay

half doors, I made the set for my trekker using an 18" bender from harbor frieght I paid less than $30 for
latch mechanism (i plan on doing it the same for my 94)

lots of tacks (I am into my welder for $65, cheap HF flux core)

Some people try to retain the door handle in the stock location but I figure why, the whole point of half doors is to get rid of most of the sheet metal

lockers: depends on your budget, go selectable like ARB or an Eaton e-locker if you can..

Like mentioned before most of this comes down to your tastes, plans for the truck, skill set and of a lot of it how much $$$ do you have and how fast can you spend it.
I paid $400 for my 94 4Runner, had it a little over a year and half, finally heading down friday to a friend's shop to get the SAS done--springs, gears, front axle etc are being recycled from the Trekker to save $$

Ditch the chain drive t-case, get a Marlin adapter to mount a 4 cylinder gear drive case with a 4.7 low range crawler gear in it. You can do so much with that alone it's amazing.

Then the requisite bigger tires/gears/and a locker, and some lift.
