Do we have an area on this forum for items either collected or removed from our T4R's we no longer need and would like to donate? If not, would you be interested in participating? I just picked up my "new" T4R and have many mods planned and will be happy to donate most of what I remove.

I used to participate in something like this while motorcycle racing and it was great to be able to help someone else out with items you no longer needed. The context was that you'd donate (that means free of charge) something and the interested party would cover shipping (non-inflated) to their location if they aren't local.

Most of us do such, but we don't post a list. If we come across someone who needs something, we offer the free part. JohnsD90 is a good example of that. He's given away both tail lights, center console lid, and I am sure many other things.

Some of my local 4WD clubs have Freebie forums in addition to the normal For Sale and Wanted forums. Typically not just truck parts, but usually "you come and get it" as it's somewhat local (actually multi-state). And that's what works for me, I don't have the time to box stuff up and take it to UPS.

And BTW, this is actually the only worthwhile poll I've seen on this place in ages.
Usually it's important stuff like "what color should I make my dash lights" or "what rims should I get"

FoneRunner and LINY4Runner have done does this as well, hence it inspired me to give away my extra stuff. But unlike most americans we don't announce our anonymous good deeds. I do think its a good idea though.

I think its a good idea. It would be nice if the classified section had some options. I like how yotatech has a different thread for just vehicles, part out, tires and such. Obviously there are a lot more users and items being posted at yotatech, but it really helps clean up the classifieds and easy to navigate. A free section would be nice to have to help promote this idea. Basically people can put what they have and what it costs to ship.

I've offered some free stuff a few times on here like my stock bumper, trailer hitch assy, etc.. Actually, I have one of John's taillights on my truck now (thanks again). I usually just start a thread in the classified section, but it would be cool to have an ongoing feebie list on the forum.

;): Thanks! I figured it was worth a shot to get one going. Worst case, those who aren't interested won't participate.

couple of months ago a member here "sixgun86" paid it forward to me
also "FoneRunner" has done the same with many items

Post up what you've got for the taking. I'll be doing that once I upgrade my interior and exteriors lights, suspension, brakes, front bumper...etc.

great idea

I have done similar things on some of my gun forums, sent factory pieces/parts I no longer need...

I bet that's incredibly helpful as gun parts aren't always the easiest to find and can be quite expensive to get.

Agreed; I need a lens cover to my passenger side front turn signal. Not exactly a big ticket item but you never know who's got one laying around as opposed to going and finding a new one. If it was posted up on here it'd be a good place to look first.

My stock suspension has 103k on it but it's incredibly tight and still rides great. I want some lift and will be upgrading to the Toytec Ultimate soon but the replaced parts would be great for someone wanting to keep the stock ride and needing to replace their parts. I'll post them up as soon as I order my kit.

Not sure if this may help anyone here or if it has been previously discussed or shared. I had to recently purchase replacement body parts for my 1996 SR5 V6. I found a supplier that was mor ethan reasonable ( at least my opinion) they have stores in Houston, TX and California. Levan Auto Gruop is the store name. Look them up if you need body parts. They are NEW after market parts, pre-primered in black. These are what i bought;
Hood - $85
Left Fender $43
Bumper Chrome w/plastic valance $82
Right Head Light/Lamp $112
New Radiator w/ brackets $85

hope that help someone on here....

The idea is good but I tried to give stuff away and posted only local pickup only and everyone who responded asked for it to be shipped. :rockthrow:

I've had the same happen in the past but normally if someone needs it they're willing to pay the shipping for it. Makes it pretty cheap for them instead of buying it and then paying shipping on top of that.

If you're willing to give it away then there's no reason you should have to cover the shipping...unless you just wanted to. I've done that on a couple of occasions for someone that was in a tough place and needed a little help.

It's a great feeling to be able to help someone when they are in need, even if it's something really minor or inconsequential to you.

'99 Limited Running Boards

I finally took the running boards off my '99 Limited and have them available FOR FREE. Local pick-ups get priority but if you really need them shipped, and are willing to pay the shipping, I will see what the cost is to your zip when I have some time to run them down to UPS.

They include the original brackets and mounting hardware but I would strongly suggest replacing the bolts. I broke two of them during removal from the vehicle.

I really like this idea, I currently have a set of rims that are to small for my 4runner and are only on there because of two spacers each. I cant afford to get new rims for a few years and I just put on new tires.

I'd be interested but it would have to be local. I have stock running boards but I really don't want to ship them.
