Pedal Commander highway use?

I've had a pedal.commander for about a month now. I like it because there is zero lag when I push the long skinny pedal down to move forward. My average fuel mileage hasn't changed but depending on how you set it up AND how you drive that could vary. IMO, it's worth the money based on how I drive.

I have a sprint booster which does the same thing. There is no way anyone is seeing a 20% boost in fuel economy from one of these things.

Pedal Commander and Sprint Booster are merely electronic amplifiers. There’s lots written about them on this forum.
Think of it like this. You push the pedal down 1/2 inch and the engine responds as if you pushed the pedal down 1/2 inch + x inches. Where x is determined by the “boost” value you set the device to.
No additional horse power, no additional MPG. Just a quicker response to your foot.

It's really more than just duplicating pushing the pedal down further. It provides a quicker throttle and transmission response than what you can achieve by simply "mashing the pedal." If my sprint booster is set to "Race 5" on the highway it provides me with an almost instant throttle response and kick down allowing me to quickly make a passing maneuver. If I turn it off and try to duplicate it by "mashing the pedal," there is still an unwanted delay. These devices are simply an aftermarket solution to what most cars include today as standard equipment. The majority of cars, today, come equipped with different drive modes....be it economy, comfort, sport or sport plus. These modes change throttle input and transmission shift points. I equate my 4runner's factory throttle to my wife's BMW in eco mode.

Pedal Commander and Sprint Booster are not analogous to driving modes in a BMW. Those modes change a lot more than throttle input, they change suspension, steering and transmission characteristics. PD and SB do nothing other than amplify throttle input. Any change to fuel consumption will be a function of how you drive.

heres another question that.. i know you guys mentioned lag..
but i picked a 2021 venture and there is no lag.....
mind you i came from a bmw X6 M
.. is it possible for 2021 they made it so its more responsive ?
ive never driven any other 4runner
maybe someone here who has an older one and has a new one now can tell me if they feel the new ones are more responsive ?
because i really see no lag in mine

The Eco mode is like grandpa driving for around town. It really slows down throttle response so no one would use it in the real world.
The claim has the wording "up to" which makes the claim plausible. .00001% fuel savings is within the "up to 20%" range.
Because it is promotional advertising, and carefully worded.

Notice nowhere do they say anything about "how".
I'm not banging on PC or SB. I have a Spring Booster in my 4Runner and I love it. I would have been just as comfortable buying a Pedal Commander. I consider them interchangeable. Wouldn't go back to stock. I don't expect it to do anything for fuel economy. That's not why I installed it. Slowing things down even further to try and save fuel would be counter productive to why it is needed to begin with.

Any increased gas savings you get would be just due to you driving more mindfully.
Same experience here. I think it's from not realizing you need to feather/finesse a pedal to get good response out of drive by wire. Mashing the pedal confuses the system into thinking you overapplied the throttle (although i wouldn't be surprised if most american manufactures programmed pedals for this type of driving, which explains why many struggle with the 4runner throttle). If instead you modulate pressure on the pedal in relation to the car's feedback, you can usually accelerate pretty quickly without having the vehicle search for gears. I'm guessing most people think race drivers mash the pedal at the start line when in reality they quickly but progressively increase pressure; if not they would just spin out.

thats exactly what i was thinking
like most cars i had its way quicker to slowly keep pressing down vs just pushing it down in one shot i guess some people have ''heavy feet''
