I am a long time Toyota lover and owner. My first car/truck was a 1991 single cab 22RE 4x4 I bought in 1996. I was 19 years old at the time and absolutely loved that truck:thumb3: I bought a black 6 speed FJCruiser when they first came out. I wasn't a huge fan so that only lasted about a year before I traded it in for a Porsche. My latest everyday is Pedro, The 1981 fj60 my father bought when I was 5 years old. I learned to drive stick on Pedro when I was 15. My father gave Pedro to my brother about 5 years ago and he beat it up pretty good before giving it back to our father. I got it next and have been fixing her up ever since. Toyotas run in my blood and instead of replacing my wife's Outback with another we picked up a silver 2016 SR5 Premium 4runner off the showroom floor. Originally we had no plans to customize the T4R but have succumbed to the bug. I had seen the matte black TRD wheels on other 4runners and thought they looked nice. I am a OEM guy and told my wife I wanted to purchase them for her T4R. She said she wasn’t interested then about a week later she came home and said she wanted them. She had seen other T4R with them and she fell in love:bigok: We decided to rock the stock tires for 30k since we probably won’t be doing any hard core wheeling anytime soon in the 2016. Plus about 2k miles in she had to replace a tire due to a screw in the sidewall. She added replacement certificates on all the tires including the 3 factory ones. Oh well, I keep reading it’s best to get a lift with new tires anyway for it to look right. I need to save my pennies for the lift and tires so the wait works out. So about a month after the tire ordeal someone ran a shopping cart into the right front corner of the bumper and broke a tab. The bumper now sticks out where the tab is broken. Needless to say I’m a little disappointed with the front bumper’s ruggedness as the shopping cart left two tiny “rock chip” blemishes. Instead of replacing it with another bumper that will break just as easy we ordered a Pelfreybilt Aluminum bumper. I wanted a bumper that didn’t need me to chop up the old bumper. I also wanted aluminum due to weight and the fact it won’t rust in our PNW weather. I got it back from the powder coater recently and will try and make time to install it this coming week. My wife also surprised me by ordering a Front Runner standard length rack for her rig. I felt the Front Runner rack was the best option for the price. I love the fact it’s made in South Africa, aluminum/stainless construction and the modular capability is freaking awesome! I plan on doing the rack and bumper install this week, stay tuned!:artist2::cheers:
