Man, those are awesome pics! I appreciate them as we do not have a lot of material for the 4th gens! Would either of you mind sending me some pictures and details of your build? I have been collecting to do a Pelfreybilt Customer Rig Blog!
And to answer your question, the air bags would not be affected, modern vehicles have been using an inertia sensor system for quite some time and not the old crush zone system from back in the day. Weight difference would dpend on hoop options and such but you are looking of a base weight differenc eof about 65# aluminum to 125# Steel!
