Yes I have paid in full. The explanation has been and still is that there's lots of people in line and they have lots of stuff to produce in addition to the bumpers. Wrap that up with a lack of any kind of apology, a couple "huns", and no empathy whatsoever and you get the idea. I was told that I shouldn't be put out cause everybody else was in the same boat

My order was processed 3 days after they posted the pre order info here. Apparently I'm towards the end of the 79 orders they have. Had I known I was 70+ orders down the pipe it might have changed things

I just got told that there was no estimated time of delivery for my bumper. And to check back in September for an update on a bumper I ordered in early March.

Jesus WTF.

I put my order in in July...2017!
I should have mine soon...i think it will be worth the wait.

Very very worth the wait.

I'll just say this, almost ALL off-road shops are a LOT smaller in terms of staff than you'd think.

Even the biggest one out there that I know of, and have visited, which is Addictive Desert Designs, is a lot smaller than you'd think. And they're an OEM manufacturer for Ford's stuff.

I know these bumpers are being stocked up, painted, etc. But it's totally worth it.

Yeah that’s ridiculous. At the very least they need to take ownership of updating YOU, not the other way around. That’s what makes good customer service.

How easy is the install for those who have already gotten and installed theirs? (Time it took?) obviously no cutting involved.

Did they end up deciding to offer rotopax mounting options on the swing arms?

It’s not terribly hard. But getting things aligned takes some time.

No rotopax mounts currently. Because rotopax suck.

Thanks! Only reason I use rotopax is to mount water for my dogs camping and hiking excursions, they drink A LOT...but guess it would give me an excuse to just buy some water canisters

I put down my first $1K deposit in May 2017 without seeing a single drawing. The decision was based on two factors. 1. The quality and finished product of my front bumper and sliders from them. 2nd, and more importantly, I met up with Tyler Pelfrey out at Corral Canyon on an impromptu trail ride with his, my, and another family. We wheeled and camped, talked shop, and just generally had a good time in the heat watching the kids play.

After speaking for a few hours over some quality ale about quality of work and design, and how much time it takes to get something done right, I knew that if he was going to be designing a rear bumper for the 5th gen, that I was going to purchase it. I was very impressed with not only his dedication to the product, but also how he goes about design. As a small business owner myself, I understand the issues surrounding customer expectations, as well as the intricacies of keeping customers satisfied not only with the finished product, but also with the process that wields the product. It’s difficult to keep people amped about something when it takes so long to complete the process. Maybe this is an issue with our current “instant gratification” society, where Amazon can send us some crappy product in 2 days. Real blank slate products take a long time to design, build, and perfect.

Now I totally understand that my situation was unique, and not everyone is going to go on trail rides with vendors before purchasing gear, and talk at length with them about work ethic and quality. I also understand that no one on this forum knows me from Adam, so I don’t expect anyone to trust my judgement. But I just felt compelled to throw this out there, and although Tyler isn’t on this forum or any other social media platform personally, I felt that I should share my experience with the person who is behind the design.

I also know first hand that something as complex as this rear dual swing takes not only time to perfect, but also the first few runs often don’t always go perfectly. I appreciate the fact that if it’s not done right, it doesn’t leave the warehouse, period. And I would rather wait a couple months than have something installed on my rig that I’m not completely satisfied with and have to return it or drive down and have repaired.

I can’t speak on the communication/customer service front, as most of my emails get responded to within a day, at worst a few days.

In the end though, I’m more than happy to wait for what’s been described as an awesome bumper, and one that I plan to have on my rig as long as I have it.

Just cancel and get a CBI or something else. 7 months is ridiculous unless you're a #pelfreybiltfanboy

We appreciate the feedback! Trust me, I have been the middle man on this one so I know exactly what you are talking about. Between production and customers I have pretty much been scrambling to keep everyone updated. We have sent out a few "group" update emails but typically we don't have much more to update and with more than 450 open orders (and that's armor, not battery cages and such, just armor orders) it is hard to keep 450 individual customers updated on the progress of their orders. The people who know it is worth it will wait, most of our pre orders were guys with CBI bumpers and after taking a couple off here at the shop we know why. I do however apologize to anyone who thinks we have taken advantage of them or are taking too long and are not keeping up to our customer service standard. That type of thing is not something we have been known for and we are doing our best to correct it. We have lost some personnel and are losing some more here soon and haven't been able to replace them so running that many orders through the shop with 5 people is very, very difficult. For those of you who have gotten your rear thank you for the feedback, it is superior to what is out there and once it is in production full time will not take so long. To the rest I can tell you the guys are out there sweating every day to build them as quickly as possible without sacrificing the integrity of our quality. We love you guys, you are why we do this and it sucks to see so many of you unhappy but we can only move as fast as we can move and you helped teach us a lot about releasing new product.

We appreciate your feedback, as we will not let these rear bumpers leave without every measure we can take to ensure they are exactly what we would run on our own rigs. Tyler is off of social media for this very reason. People are excited when things are going perfectly, and they are less than polite (which has to do with some staff leaving) when things do not and not everyone can be the punching bag I have been for customers. Expressing frustration is one thing, being a dick is another. I will personally let Tyler know about your review and I will see if he cant reach out for another family offroad trip.

Great looking bumper! Sounds like everyone who have seen it are thrill with the quality. Still, I'd like to see it first before ordering. Are you guys planning to be at the Offroad Expo in Pomona, CA at the end of September? I wasn't set on going this year, but if you guys are coming, I'll definitely go just to be able to see the bumper.

If for whatever reason you don’t cross paths with them at the show or don’t make, hit me up and I’ll be happy to show you when I get mine installed. Mine is actually in powder coat this week and should be ready. Unfortunately, I lagged on pulling the trigger on a new suspension and am working with Michael on procuring parts and will be waiting for those to arrive before driving down to San Diego.

Paid $3500 in full back in January, at this time there was about 25 orders according to Satin, delivery date was estimated to be late March.

It's now August, and still no update on when I will be getting anything, and the lack of transparency doesn't help.

They've already mentioned they have 79 orders placed, at least let us know what # rear bumper they are currently on and refer all customers to this one thread to keep track so they don't have 79, or 450 people contacting them about the same thing.

Are you guys offering full refunds to those that paid a deposit or paid in full?

I think they are on 2 through 12 right now. At least the first 6 for sure, which had to be corrected and re-powder coated. Hoping they ship this week!

We very possibly may be, we typically are but we also have an Alaska trip with Team Field Craft about that time too

This 100%. We should be close to getting this thing dialed in.

The pre order was only 3200 for powder coat back before we were hit with material increases. We have a strict 20% restocking/admin fee for cancellations which I know no one ever agrees with but when you think about how many man hours goes into each order not including the building of the product itself it adds up. I am not savvy to a lot of what is going on with the rears in terms of production, I know one of the JIGS did not hold up and limited us to about 1-2 a day due to the complexity of the bumper and having to redo a few that did not meet our QC standards. I personally have played the waiting game, I built my entire truck before I got on here at team Pelfrey and I know it sucks but with us it is always worth it. Anyone can say what they want about the lead time, its justifiable at this point to be angry, it really is. But a VERY large percentage of our first pre-orders were people who had other brands on their truck and just couldn't stand them anymore. IT IS worth the wait to get the right one, the first time and have it work right, the first time. But our Quality has proven time and again to outdo others and our products continue to out perform others.

If that's the case, at the rate they stated, they won't get to 79 till after Thanksgiving

We should actually be hitting them before that. 79 however doesn't have a lead time due date of until after xmas. We have hired another welder and are working on getting back u a second jig.
