Is it possible Pelfrey produced that ad as a desperate attempt at a cover story? Meaning, they make off with $500k+, then try to do a quick video on top of it near the end to try to show "See, where had good intentions... why else would we spend $20k on an ad 1 month before going under?"

Doubtful, While not vouching for them my guess is the contract to produce this was signed many months ago - should/did they see the company failing at that point who knows.

Still an incredible waste of money when you have hundreds of thousands of dollars in product not produced

Produced by Riot. They do awesome work. Definitely not cheap.

This is what I do for a living. I assure you...that production was not $20K. Likely double that or more... Payment to the rap group, and on-screen speaking talent, was pricey.

Creatives are almost always the first to get screwed when it comes to payouts. I hope they got paid for their work too, they are a small up and coming firm, taking on a high quality gig gratis, hurts.

Likely they did not. Or...at the very least had a production deposit to get things going. In all likelihood, they are on the vendors list as well.

Stuff like this really sucks.

Someone wrote on another forum that they know the Pelfrey's personally and they moved to Texas and purchased a new car before closing shop. Not sure how accurate this info is but maybe they have plans to open up a new business else ware. Learn from their mistakes and run a better operation in Texas?

They have 3 bankruptcy's between them and have screwed over thousands of customers. I doubt they can learn from their mistakes. If they open up a shop I'm staying far far far away. Only a fool would give Tyler and Satin any money. Honestly they'd be crucified on the internet if they opened up another shop asking for more money. The only way these people should be allowed to make products is as an employee of a company. They should not and can not be a majority owner of any business.

Honestly, they are likely scumbags.

If they got a new car, then I 99% guarantee they pocketed the $700k with a family member or close friend (incentivized by a small %age of the pocketed money), and have not been paying their bills on the business for some time.

I know this because this is how most folks in Cali handled bankruptcy and defaulting on homes. They'd post on Craigslist 18-24 months before default, but after they'd decided they'd stop paying the mortgage.

Then, they'd get 3-4 cash renters for said house, and collect $3-4k a month every month for the next 2 years, which they'd keep with a friend, or in a checking account they'd then liquidate right at the end.

So at the end of the day, they'd go bankrupt, but have $50-100k+ cash-free hidden away that the govt never knew about.

You would think the mods would disable the Vendors threads after all the problems...

I see what you did there!

I think this is still alive so folks can get information although the threads at TacomaWorld are much more informative/organized (well one is...) and I would go there for the latest information if I was involved. I think the important thing is that some or at least enough folks are able to talk to the judge/whomever legally appointed to look into the actions of the Pelfrey's to see if they constitute anything criminal. If they did nothing wrong from a legal standpoint - well that sucks but we are not vigilantes and its the system we all live in. However if they did break the law they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law by a jury of peers or something like that :)

I feel terrible for them. I was involved in a bankruptcy situation with a client and actually had to PAY money because we received payment within the 60 day window of the filing. That blows. They will likely never receive a penny. If they do...it will be pennies on the dollar.

This kind of stuff makes my blood boil.:mad2:

They are listed on page 58 of the filing as a creditor.

Hopefully their contract says they retain copyrights until fully paid. Perhaps opens the door for a copyright infringement claim outside the bankruptcy protection, assuming they want to pay lawyers to fight it.

I believe they filmed that video in May. Tyler dropped off my bumper on his way up to Utah with that truck and said he was taking it up there for a shoot.
