People are really dumb!

dude just texted me he has to have a thousand for it to break even.....bahahahaha
im tempted just for the interior and the wheels and tires its a complete grey and all my trucks have red.
should i meet him half way at 900?

If you keep the interoir and wheels, you can make a bunch of your money back by parting some of it out and scrapping the rest. I would say go for it. even if you get $500 from parting and scrapping it then you'll basically get good wheels and interior for $400-$500. Not too bad of a deal.

It wouldn't be the first time I bought a junk 4runner for some parts then sold the rest.

About 2 months ago I bought a 4runner for $700. I needed a few parts off of it. I sold the motor for $500, and sold a handful of other parts for about $300, then scrapped the 4runner for $280. So I basically got the parts I needed for free then made money on parting and scrapping it. It's a no brainer.

Interior?....Do you need the carpet? Or just the seats?

Give him 500$, take the wheels, tires and seats. Put back on wheels with worse tires, and your red seats. Then take your 200$ and buy a new carpet 84-89 Toyota 4Runner Carpet Complete Kit 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 then DINO can sell what is left for 600$ or more for a 100$ profit for him since it will still be functional.

This made sense, until I remembered you also want the motor to rebuild. But if not, it could be a plan. You can probably get a motor to rebuild for 250$ else where already removed. I think my Toyota salvage guy will give be a working motor for that much. This is still 900-1000$.
