any performance chips on the market for 3rd gen 4runners?
if u have one do they work?, like the hypertech chip that gives u better mpg

Toyota ECU's are not that easy to tune. About the best option would be to talk to a company called technosquare and see if the techtom software will work to flash the memory in the 4R ECU. Some of the toyotas can be flashed, some require a daughter board to be added. the simple answer though is no, this isn't like a GM that you can pull a couple screws out and swap a chip.
