Phase 1 of my 4th Gen build up

Man, you are on it...I have been sweaten this for a few days...I am headed to Moab via the Kokopelli trail on Thursday and I thought I better get this figured out asap, since I ain't got no dough for a CBI for a while....

I aired down to about 10PSI and it fits but does rub on the Panrhard bar...My buddy came over last night for a beer and said get a ratchet strap and let more air out of the tire and then ratchet that sucker around the treads, he said it will push the rubber on the side walls and should give me the clearence I need...

I will try it tomorrow and get back to ya..

How did this method work out for you? It seems like a good idea in theory, but I'm curious about it in practice.

I didn't get a chance to work on it today...After a month of car swap and 2weeks of marathon modding, I had kid duty...Going to try it tomorrow.

It worked!

I had to let out all the air and use a synch strap. It folds the tire a bit but that should be ok.

Allows for about 1/4 inch space between the tire and the Parnhard bar, when fully seated in spare space.

I carry a Power Tank CO2 with me, so if I can't trail fix a flat tire with my ARB tire repair kit, then I would toss in the spare and pump it up.

Also I am only running these tires on trail. I have a set of the Limited wheels with Michelins (sp?) that I will run as a daily driver.

Pretty easy to swap out the wheels/tires..

Hey Chris,

Ride looks great! Just curious, how much weight do you think you lost removing the XREAS set up? Is it much?

Hey what made you go w/285 over 265? I'm looking at getting some FJ Cruiser wheels and they recommend 265.

Check those post dates bro, youre calling into the past on this one. He prob wanted bigger tires to go along with the lift. 265s are stock size, of coarse thats what would be recommended.
