Ok, I made the other post about Silverstars and someone posted on there something about the Philips Vision Plus light. Are they really 50% brighter? Are they a lot brighter then the Silverstars? If so, i would get them, theyre only liike 15 bucks. Thanks in advance!

50% brighter than stock. Do a search and you'll see that Vision Plus has been discussed several times already.

I really don't think you're going to notice the difference that much between a vision + and a silverstar.. but that's what i'm guessing.

For so cheap.. you could always just buy one.. and let the rest of us know!. :D

Well my question is, I already have Silverstars, will there be a noticable difference between the two?
I doubt it. I have Osram Silverstars in the 4Runner and Vision Plus in the Camry. Can't see a significant difference.

Someone please post a link where I can purchase these Phillips Vision Plus bulbs? I can't find them anywhere!!!!

Thanks very much!!!

This site has been referenced numerous times, but I'll point it out again anyhow...

http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/bulbs.html

Click on "Blue Bulb Controversy", click on "Acceptable Blue Bulbs"

Among his recommendations are:

Sylvania Xtravision (pink/black pkg)
Osram Super
Philips High Visibility

But lots of us bit into the marketing hype and got the SilverStars.. mainly because we like the way they look and perform, even if it's just our perception in improved performance over whats mentioned in the article... or simply because we like the HID look and the whiter light on the roadway...

It doesn't look like they sell bulbs for the 4-Runner though, only H1, H4, and H7 bulbs.
No, but I noticed the new GE bulbs (standard + 60% brightness) are in 9005/9006 sizes. Philips only makes the Vision Plus in European sizes.

I'd love to see some side/by side comparison photos (shot down a dark roadway to compare illumination) between the ever so popular silverstars and the Philips Vision Plus... If the Philips bulbs shine further forward than the silverstars, then our money might be better spent on them, since they're half the price!

you can get Philips VP in 9005. I have some in my hand. Got it from some yahoo store for $20.
I stand corrected. When I checked for Philips Vision Plus before, I was told they only made European sizes.

Google is an amazing tool:

John, great find on Google!

Those pix really tell the story.

I have not installed mine yet. We did install some on a 97 328i. The bulbs are great. So bright. We bought the 9005 and plan to do the lowbeam mod.
The bulb light is more yellow than a pure with like the Syl SS. From the reading i've been doing, i'm convinced i'd rather have more light, than slightly whiter light. These aren't yellow like stock, just not as white as the SS.

I couldn't believe they were that cheap /pr, so couldn't pass up. Thinking about getting some highs and fogs as well.

Will install soon.

Has anybody heard of or tried the Philips Crystal Vision bulbs? Based on the info I've seen, it would seem to me that these bulbs would be far more similar to the Silverstars than the Vision Plus bulbs are.

I just ordered a pair of the Crystal Vision, so once I install them I'll post a review. By the way, I currently have the Silverstars, they're pretty good, I'm just curious to see how the Crystal Vision compares.
