phone mounting options

I was curious what you guys are using to hold your phones other than the cup holder. In my Protege, I can set it up on the gauge cluster so I can see the GPS when using it. Don't have much of a "ledge" on the 4runner to do that. I like it to be in my line of site, not having to take my eyes off the road too much. Im open for outside the box ideas.

Third gen? My iPhone 4 without a case fits dead center of the gauges. Kinda gotta push it in a little but it fits perfectly

yea, 3rd gen. My case on it is just some flimsy plastic cover. Ill give that a shot tomorrow see if I can make it work.

Ram Mount X-Grip. One of the best/most used products I've purchased in ages. Holds a wide variety of phones, and is sturdy as all get out.

drivers side door handle - i always hold my phone if i'm looking at maps... screen is too small for me to mount up on the windshield

I also have a ProClip mount, definitely the best vehicle specific mount I've been able to find.

Another vote for the 3rd gen-specific ProClip mount. I use mine to hold a tablet but it will hold phones too.
