Pic of truck. Stick with 32s? no chance on 33s right?

Im kinda new to this, with 4runners anyways. So here is a pic of my truck. Doing a little research on the forum it looks like 265/75/r16 is the biggest i can go, correct?

Currently it has 30s (245/75/r16) on it.

No picture is showing up. Let me ask you, what makes you want 33's? 32s and 31s are nearly every bit as capable off-road, and far better on-road. 265/75 is a great compromise for the 3rd gen, and has many more options than 33".

I agree with absalom. I recently bought 265/75 and couldn't be much happier.

265/75R16 or 265/70R17 is an ideal size for our rigs- IMO.
The picture isn't showing up, and you haven't given much info on your rig at all. It depends what you want out of your 4R, but a 265/75R 16 or 265/70R17 are a great tire size to run. Capable, available in many tires, and won't adversely affect fuel mileage badly.

Fixed the picture issue. i could see it but no one else could.

well the main reason was i found a good deal on some nice used ones. Cant afford a shiny brand new set of BFGs right now

But yeah. I guess ill stick with 32s if i can find em used.

Its just a spacer lift kit last guy put in.

Do you realise you are missing a rear lug nut?

I'm going to go with 265/70 R17's when I can save up the dough for them. I got a set of nice 17" 2004 sport rims off the wrecker with 265/65 R17's that are almost finished. If I had 16" rims I'd get the 265/75 R16's which I think are the same diameter.

What exact 33's are you looking at for a good price? What model and specific size?

they are 255/85/r16 BFG Mud terrains

mostly worried about bad rubbing in turns. held up a measuring take...looked pretty damn hard to fit

That will mostly depend on how the rig is sitting now. Measure each wheel from center to lower part of wheel opening. If over 21.75" you should have no rubbing on turns with 32s. :cowboy:

My priority over tires would be suspension. I'll bet real money that it's just a spacer lift over old, worn out stock suspension.

I'd recommend new tall 99 coils and shocks, new LBJ's, new steering bushings, etc. You'll get much more bang for your buck, and notice a far bigger difference.

I've off-roaded plenty with tiny biscuit tires, and they won't hold you back nearly as badly as shoddy suspension.

Depends on how worn those tires are. Could be a safety concern.

Tiny tires won't hold you back but shitty tires will. Wife's truck is on street 245s. Did a little wheeling with light rain. Could not get up singe rocks in 4x4 without all tires just spinning. Suspension would not help any. But some real tread would have.

I ran 255/85/16 Maxxis Bighorns on my 1997 4Runner with 0" lift. I hammered the pinch welds and they still rubbed in the front while flexing and turning. They can work, but you'll have to make them work.
