Pic Request: 265/70/17 or 255/75/17 w/o wheel spacers

I went with 265/70R17s on my 08, and there was definitely some trimming needed without spacers (wider tire killed me). I added spacers, and it rubbed a lot more. I had to cut off some fender to keep it from consistently rubbing, and pushed the fender liner forward at least 1.5" -- at least... I'm on Bilsteins at top height and a leveling spacer in back to eliminate the rake.

My buddy has an 05 with 255 75s, and the flaps rubbed. That was the only trimming he needed to do without spacers. He added his spacers, and it was still minimal rubbing. He's got the same lift setup -- 5100s and spacers in the rear.

Net: The 05 & 08 fenders are different and may cause issues for you if you ever go the spacer route. If I had to do it over again, I'd go with 255/75s if you could find a good deal on them. The RBs shouldn't matter much either way. Also, the tire will make a HUGE difference. Knobby tires will rub more...but also look awesome.

Honestly the 1.25" doesn't push it out very far and I think the stance actually looks better with them. Also fixed my rear remote reservoir rubbing issue. I did have to push the fender liners in the front forward, and I still need to trim something else because I still have some rub. Without the 1.25" spacer, I had a ton of rub on the fender liners and the occasional body mount rub.

Those wheels are off of a 2012 sr5, and I have 1.25" spidertrax all around yes. I'm super happy with the setup -- get on it.

265/70/17, no spacers (FJ coils, 5100's, fronts @ 1.75, 1.5" daystar spacers in rear). Wheels look small in this pic, though they're not huge the rig looks better in person. Go figure.

Already painted. Not really a fan..I probably will replace the brakes with 5th gen calipers and rotors once its time to replace the current rotors.
