the josh and blk_4runner have some pics of those sliders from earlier in their builds.
It seems like people 'outgrow' them quickly.
They're different than other sliders in that they mount to the body as well. Some people say that is a bad idea and can damage the body when the sliders take an impact.

I am considering these as well, I saw today on amazon a pic of the 3rd gen. Same basic design and they have the 4th gen listed too but the 3rd gen pic was way better. Now that my tires stick out a little and the mudflaps are gone up front I think I need something with a top plate to block all the crud and rocks from hitting my doors without making the truck look lower. Something that tucks up tight but stick out to the side past the doors an inch or two.
The Rocky roads are still my favorite at this point but im really picky, still considering a custom job but the guy I was going to work with wanted 1000 bucks for kick out sliders with a top plate, painted and installed.

There are a ton of good options for bolt on or weld on. As a general rule bolt on is more expensive (with the exception of the Rocky Road Sliders).
Check out the 4th Gen Armor sticky at the top of the sub forum. Almost all slider options are listed there along with features, prices, and mounting info (i.e. weld vs. bolt)

I checked the armor thread...& by looking at it I came to think that the bolt ons cost a little more but that's also before I have to pay some1 to weld them on for me...so I figured id ask & see what others have/prefer as far as brand, weld/bolt on ...kickout or no kick out top plates or no top plates...do rocks fly out of ur tires & hit the side of your truck now that u have spacers installed & would top plates block them....stuff like that, every company says they are the best I want to read some consumer reviews I guess.

I have 4x innovations they are about the cheapest around and good because you can fit them up how ever you like i got mine so i can still use them as steps and i found a welder on Craigslist for 60 dollars

I looked at the 4xinno's first but then I read a little further into that thread and seen that some shops charge 400$ to weld them on for you & was like well I can just spend a little more & get bolt ons and do it myself....so anyways if I get some weld ons we can get together & drink some beers 1 weekend ( on me of course ) and put em on right??

I am needing sliders for Hi Lift jacking points. I don't intend on aftermarket bumpers and as far as I know, rock sliders and a Hi Lift are a good option?
Would the Rocky Road Super Sliders work well as jacking points?

They'll work but as recommended earlier, you'd be better off getting some weld on or another brand of bolt on sliders.
The super sliders have an anchor on each end that attaches to the rocker panel under the body therefore distributes some weight on the body when the weight of the truck is placed on the slider. It's generally not a good idea to place that much force on body panels. I'm fairly sure there are other options out there for close to the same price that bolt on.
But again, they will work if you really want them.

I have Rocky Roads Supersliders. They have five points on each slider to mount into the pinch weld on the body. I have dropped on some rocks and have had no issues with body damage. I ended up welding mine to the frame to make them as solid as possible. They are a pain in the ass to mount to the pinch weld as you have to drill all the holes with a thin metal template they give you. They don't stick out far enough for a step but far enough for good protection. They look good and are solid. I had issues with the company sending me the wrong sliders and in turn it took an extra month or more than expected to get mine in. Frustrating, but they worked with me. Hope that helps.

I noticed the mention of hi lift jacking earlier. For those with the rocky road sliders, do they stick out far enough to use the hi lift? Regular sliders or super sliders? I bought the hi lift before I noticed there are no jack points on my 05 4runner ltd v8, hence my desire for cheaper sliders like rocky road (I also like them because they don't stick out too far like many others). Thanks!
