Picked up a 2002 4runner Limited 4wd

Well, after looking for the right T4R for a few months I finally found the one. It's a 2002 T4R 4wd limited. I live in dallas and the car was in OKC (about 3.5 hours north) so a buddy and I drove up yesterday, drove it around for a while, swapped cash for title and headed back south. Pretty cool moment on the way back:

I don't have any pictures, yet, but shes Thundercloud Grey. I had a toyota dealer inspect the car before I bought it and the only things they mentioned were the valve covers are weeping and the front rotors need replacing soon. Paid 7850. So far I've had her inspected and changed the oil. I ordered the following parts today:

Koyo radiator and radiator cap
B&M trans cooler
OEM air filter
OEM valve cover gaskets with spark plug tube gaskets
OEM fuel filter
NGK plugs and TE66 wire set

I need to do the front brakes at some point but the above will keep me busy for a little bit. I don't think I'm going to do the tundra upgrade since she is my DD and I'm trying not to mod this car lol. That's what my Z06 is for. I'll get pictures up shortly

Thanks! I don't plan on lifting her in the near future. I want to address the above parts, change all fluids, and have my steering wheel redone before I start modding.

Welcome to the site! This place is full of information...ever have a question, just use the search mode and you will quickly have your answer. If not, don't hesitate to ask! There's a lot of smart guys on here...unfortunately I'm not one of them...lol!

An Army buddy of mine just re-did his steering wheel. He first went to the dealer. I think they wanted $400 or something crazy like that for just the wheel...no air bag. None in the wrecking yards, so he ended up re-lining the wheel with a liner called a Wheel Skin. He loves it...Said easy to install. I personally have not touched one or driven with it installed (he's in another state, just sent me a picture) so can say to much about it. Here's a link...you can go from there.

Great to see more and more 4runners coming down to Dallas! We now have about 6-8 4runners in this forum from Dallas and around. Would you like to come on the 10th to Bridgeport?

"hrt4me" are you coming on the 10th. I think the 11th is a holiday in Louisiana. If so, I can come too!

What are we planning? Family members allowed? Full day trail?

That's a great link. My steering wheel has 347k miles of wear, and definitely needs to be replaced. This is a much cheaper and easier option than getting a new steering wheel!

I don't think I can make it this time out. I'm a CPA and this is our busy :AK47:Won't be doing much on the weekends until after April 15th. I would like to head out with a group one day though!

Thanks! I've pretty much made it through all of the buyers guide, maintenance thread and the lift thread. Tons of info in here! I still have a few things to address on my rig so I know these will come in handy. My first fix needs to be the driver side door lock. It doesn't lock/unlock with the power lock button nor does it lock/unlock when I use the key on the exterior lock
