Picked up my SR5 . . . then put 106 miles on it!

Yesterday afternoon I picked up my Blizzard Pearl SR5 from the dealership. I put a deposit down a week ago Thursday and it arrived this past Wednesday. It was all ready to go in the bay:

This is the first Japanese car in a die-hard Ford family . . . I traded my '04 Mustang and when my parents left the dealership yesterday, they did so in my Mom's '06 Expedition and when they got home I'm sure my father either drove his '08 F-150 or the '01 F-250.

I'm a graduate student so I headed 100 miles North back to school. 4Runner was so smooth and quiet, the nice long highway drive reaffirmed my decision to go Toyota (it had 4 miles on it in the bay, 110 when I parked it). It's a pretty basic SR5, not too many options- upgraded stereo with iPod, Bluetooth, XM, cross bars, carpet mats, outlets, and SE Toyota port installed leather.

I'll try to take more pictures today, I'm heading out in a few minutes to get all of my personals situated in the car and pair up my Blackberry. I'll be sure to take pictures of the SE Toyota port installed leather because IT IS different than the factory leather.

Two quick questions . . . is it a SE Toyota thing that I got gray carpet mats for my black carpet? Or is this nationwide? I told my sales guy I wasn't happy about paying $300 for mats that not only don't match, but clash with the interior. He's looking into a fix.

And, what do I need to go buy iPod cable wise? I ran a search and saw that many are using the USB port with the USB cable from Apple. But can you use the AUX port with the cables that go into your headphones port?

I have the 'factory' mats for the front, rear, & cargo - they are black to match the carpet & say '4Runner' on them. Sticker cost on them is only $204 though, did they really charge you $300 for aftermarkets?!

Mine say "4Runner" like yours, they're just gray (which looks horrible with my tan leather). And yes, the sticker price is $299. I'm pretty upset about it, especially considering if I got that money back, I could buy an entire set of Weather Tech's for a little more than half that. I would have been more vocal at the dealership except my sales guy did try and even volunteered to pull black mats out of another vehicle (but they would have been mats from like an Avalon or similar).

Now I just need to figure out a way to get to contact someone at SE Toyota so I can complain.:rockthrow:

You do bring up a concern for my 4Runner, which is supposed to arrive within the next 2 weeks. I ordered mine w/out floormats, but they found one in allocation that already had the "premium accessory kit" (floormats, cargo mat, cargo net, first aid, etc). Basically, it was this one or wait another month for my ordered one. I pray that these mats are black and not gray. I want to strike gray from the interior of the SR5 as is (lower dashboard, door inserts, and armrest). More gray will make me stabby.

My mom picked up her Rav4 Limited a couple weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure it had a black cargo mat and floormats w/ the "ash" interior.

mine came with matching floor mats from gulf states toyota. if you dont have the usb port the aux headphone port works just fine. you can get one from any place that sales electronics.

I was a little bit worried about the grey interior parts when I ordered my SR5 as I hadn't seen that interior color on a SR5 other than pictures but now that I have it I actually like it.

As for my mats, Its a very dark grey almost black and matches the carpet under it very well. It also has the 4runner logo on it and was stickered at 209. 299 is a rip off. I've actually found the 4runner mat set online for about 150.

I'll snap pictures of mine later if it ever stops raining, they sound similar to yours. They're pretty dark gray and would probably look appropriate if you had an SR5 with black leather and gray door/dash components. But I have tan leather so mine has tan dash/door components. I, unlike some on the forum, really like the tan/black combo on the SR5 dash because I believe it looks more color coordinated. But with these mats, I have tan, black and gray . . .

I had a pretty good experience buying this car; I can't say enough good things about my sales guy (if you're in Florida and want a good person to work with, PM me). But SE Toyota seems pretty frustrating with the options they add and allow you to have (i.e. no true premium package in the SR5, they add the leather themselves and it may or may not be heated). The gray carpet mats are just another minor irritant- let's charge you $299 for something that doesn't match your vehicle.

I actually found black ones here http://www.trademotion.com/partloca...&subcat1=156879&subcat2=156881&subcat3=156892 for $87.20. I really want Weather Tech's but I'm going to use these gray ones without worrying about messing them up for a little while.

Welcome. I just picked up my SR5 on Thursday. Same color interior/exterior with just a few more options and I too noticed the floormats. I really wanted beige mats to match the interior color but I was a bit shocked when I found them in the back hatch and they were grey. Honestly I haven't really paid much attention to them since. They will be replaced at some point with WeatherTech's come next Fall. For the time being though, they will work.

My sentiments exactly. The ones in the front actually look okay, it's the back ones which look out of place. I'm going to just use them and get the Weather Tech's in a few months.

My moms lexus is like this its got tan seats a black dash then gray floor mats, i thought the had made some kinda mistake, so i took it back to the dealership and they said its suppose to be like. i looked around some of the other cars on the lot and they had the same thing, so i guess toyota/ lexus thinks that looks good?

Mine are that color. I don't think it looks out of place at all in yours since you've got the black leather. With the tan leather, it looks kinda off.

While we were inside signing all the paperwork, my boyfriend walked around the lot and checked out the other 4Runners, only to see all the mats were gray. But then he looked in a few Highlanders and saw their mats were coordinated to match the carpet.
