Picked up new Sport V8 2 hours ago... need help!

Hi, I just picked up my new Galactic Gray Sport V8 4x4... I had to drive to a dealer 1.5 hrs away to find one in this color. I'm having two problems, and I was hoping someone could help me out.

First... I started getting a tire pressure warning light about 45 after I started driving home. I'm going to check my tire pressure now, but I would think that the dealer checked it before I left.

Second.. there is a supposed to be a small square piece covering something (a button maybe?) right in front of the shifter... actually, it is right in front of the letter "P" (park). It looks like someone ripped it out and now there is just a hole there. Does anyone know the part number for this? I'm guessing its supposed to be a silver color to match the rest of the trim. I have to tell the dealer, but I don't know how to describe it.

Congrats on the new ride. The Sport is awesome.

I don't know much about the sensors cuz mine have functioned perfectly, including a tire flip. But I did drive several demos in which they were malfunctioning. If your psi is rite, I wouldn't sweat it too much; the dealer will have to adjust it.

You don't need to post pics - I had the same question. It's
[letmebethefirsttosayitisintheowners'manual] some kind of transmission linkage release port. But your door is gone - that sucks.
 
FYI I picked up a new 4runner and a new Rav4 and both had tire pressures 20lbs over recommended pressure!!!!!! The dealers do not check it! So please check yours.
 
I checked all 4 and they were at either 35 or 35.5.

I spoke with my dealer... he knew the piece i was missing and said he would rip it off the floor model and mail it to me.
 
Happened to me the second day I had the car, the spare tire was at 25. After I inflated that, light went away.
 
Come on the_josh wah has a serious question. We all re newbs at one time. Wah welcome to the forum and enjoy your new ride. I also have the V8 Galatic Gray Sports Edition.

just ask for a cover for the shift lock over ride switch.

the jack and the wrench is in the back. There is a little door to the left where you'll find everything including the key to the wheel locks if you have them. You'll have to put together the little wrench thing to lower the spare tire to the ground.
 
Sure, we all read the owners manual, but not 'til we get back from that first, great day of drivin' the new ride. It's dangerous readin' that thing going down the road!
